I'm so proud of you and what you stand for! My late husband was born and raised in WV! I came from Maryland! Both of us have enjoyed retirement in WV! I believe in so many of the same values you believe in! Thank You!

Excellent Speech. I don't know of anyone else, other than you and Kristi Noam, that has done More for there States than the two of you. Thank You. I really don't want you to leave. But ...I understand. If everyone else in Congress had your way of working together we'd have one Great Country.

It’s “their”, not “there”. You even edited this post and still got it wrong.

Sen. Manchin opposed President Barack Obama's energy policies, including reductions and restrictions on coal mining; voted against cloture for the Don't Ask, Don't Tell Repeal Act of 2010; supported President Donald Trump's border wall and immigration policies; and voted to confirm most of Trump's cabinet and judicial appointees, including Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh. Manchin voted against repeated attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, voted against the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, voted to convict Trump in both of his impeachment trials, voted against Amy Coney Barrett's nomination to the Supreme Court, voted to confirm Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, and was a Senate sponsor of the Inflation Reduction Act. He is among the more non-interventionist members of the Democratic caucus, having repeatedly called for the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan and opposed most military interventions in Syria. After the 2020 elections, Manchin became a key swing vote in the Senate, which was split 50-50 between Democrats and Republicans but controlled by Democrats because Vice President Kamala Harris was the tiebreaker. Since passing legislation with only Democratic support required Manchin's vote, he wielded a large influence in the 117th Congress. He supports energy and the 2nd Amendment. I do not agree with all of his political views, however, I do believe that he had the best interest and intentions for West Virginia. I think West Virginians will miss him!

Regardless of how you feel about this man, the inescapable fact remains that he saved our country from another 3 trillion dollars of debt. Think about that the next time you see the US Debt clock. Well done Joe!

Literally thrilled to see him leave. He is a traitor to the Democrat party. He could have just come out as a Republican.

Obviously, you didn't listen to his message, and fail or refuse to look beyond 'politics'.

Obviously we in WV have a different opinion going back to his golden toilet days when he remodeled the governors house. He seems to talk a good talk. He does seem to be more moderate than most democrats. Maybe why he became an independent. If he truly embraces a middle view, then maybe he should run for president. He would e had a better chance the Kamala and I’m still wondering why he didn’t jump back in cause he said he had time.
