I work for Boeing at the Renton factory, and Senator Hawley stated my concerns verbatim. It's like our management is in a separate world. After that door plug departed the Alaska aircraft mid-flight, there was there was a big show made of "correcting our shortcomings". They held that "safety stand down" and a week later all of the employee input on how to fix the quality issues was tossed out the window and nothing changed. Management here needs to be purged and replaced with people that have actual engineering background.

Yeah because the senate doesn't make arrests. They use hearings only to publicize issues affecting Americans in order to build public support for passing potential legislative regulation and its associated penalties with the added benefit of making the case for senators' reelection. They can also make referrals to the DoJ or pressure them to take action should they feel that they've built enough public support - and that's where you come in, when you call your senator's office to pat em on the back for the hearing, and to encourage them to continue taking action.

The Board of Directors needs to find a new CEO and file an injunction against him ASAP if they want to save the company. Boeing, just as any other US company is not invincible. They have a lot more to lose besides stock valuation, they can start losing out on government subsidies and defense contracts due to their continuing actions and mismanagement.

How to actually solve inflation, give the tax payer a choice, they can either continue to pay the tax, creating fake money out of thin air or they can deduct that amount from their next years income, earning less, reevaluating the value of their time in production, reducing prices. @@djmohab2 You are rigth, the max is 52x the average compensation of a "normal" worker. In the US a CEO can easily exceed 300x the average compensation. However, taking into account that the market capitalization of the top 30 companies in Germany together is ~3Trillion € (in US numbers, we use Billion as Trillion) and companies such as Nvidia, Apple, or MS are alone in this range, the CEO salaries in Germany are still quite substantial relatively. Of course turnover wise VW for example achieved >300B€ last fiscal year, whereas Microsoft achieved ~$220B. Hence, the compansation/turnover ratio in Germany is low compared to the US. The issue I wanted to point out is that real innovation is on the verge to die out in Germany. I personally think, it is a CEOs responsibility to create an atmosphere in the company, where innovation gets rewarded. But I see only million € rewards for keeping the status quo.

My father worked in Seattle on the 787 project in the early 2000's, and he would tell me how Boeing was outsourcing everything and purging their own engineers. Any talk about fixing this broken safety culture should have happened 20 years ago. Its too little too late in my opinion.

Refused to train on 787 because of MCAS etc. They got rid of engineers in house. At least many of them have worked on the Embraers. Think this is a very nice plane btw

Decades ago, we had over 600 vessels, and now we don't even have 200. They're where thousands of jobs not long ago, and now Massachusetts is spending 47 million every month just to house illegal immigrants, never mind free food, clothing, and laundry services and they get a debt card with free money every month, they live better than most working class people. My property tax went up 7.6% last year, every year it's 2 or 3%, but that's more than double. Our governor Healy just signed into law allowing illegal immigrants driving licenses so they can vote this year and there not even American citizens 🙄

Being "too big to fail" needs to stop being a thing. I hear Bayer is trying to use the "texas 2 step" to divide their company in order to limit the amount of asset forfeiting liabilities. Bayer has soaked the world in glyphosate and indirectly forced farmers in several countries to depend on genetically engineered seeds developed by Monsanto that are designed for specific resistance to roundup. They have systematically developed monopolies through corporate takeovers, buyout, and a fuckton of shady backroom deals with industry leaders and political allies through lobbyists. The extremes of a consumer society based on capitalism are starting to show through more and more these days. Wage stagnation worked to keep rich people rich for a long time. Even after wages have spiked in recent yesrs, the profit share is still shrinking for base workers. This, as corporate board members get even farther out of touch. Retirement benefits age limits have risen. The cost of living has increased more than wages. It's really hard to swallow everything being blamed on inflation when corporate profits are at all-time highs and company profit shares get even more disproportionately forced up the corporate ladder.

Calhoun should serve a prison sentence for insider trading and be stripped of all his Boeing earnings. He is obviously guiding bad business decisions in order to maximize the profits for shareholders who are being illegally tipped-off about the best times to short their Boeing stock. Short-selling profits for private Boeing shareholders reach almost $384 million from the last year alone. This is not normal.
