Send Email from SQL Server (Stored Procedures): SQL Express

Tutorial on how to setup SQL Server to send emails from stored procedures. The example shows you configuration in SQL Express using SSMS (SQL Server Management SQL) for Microsoft SQL Database. This is easy to follow along, and shows some of the tips that you get a wizard for in the full blown SQL Server but may not know how to do in the express edition.

I followed your nstructions (hopefully correctly) . I noted that i couldnt find that option in gmail.... when i check the sysmail_event_log im getting "Protocol is not supported for sending mails." Can you provide me with any knowledge on this error please

Hi, by any chance, how can I make this work after "Less Secure Apps" was removed?

Less secure apps I believe only applies to gmail. You can still use database mail with another smtp provider. If you want to keep using gmail it looks like there are some settings you can change around to make the 2 step verification work, and this can work with database mail.
