Thank you for this video! Very helpful. I tried this with a script and spreadsheet I am currently working on, but for some reason the email is sent out any time a cell is edited. I have tried to get it linked to the checkbox specifically, but it sends the email after every cell edit. I believe it has to do with the onEdit trigger. Do you know the best way to prevent this?

Hello Andrea! Thank you so much for this comment. I've looked into it and you're right about receiving multiple emails. I have tweaked the code a little, do try and let me know if it solves your issue :) If you're curious what I changed, I added a mechanism (lock) to ensure that only one action (execution of onEdit function) can happen at a time, preventing duplicates. Additionally, I removed one of the alarms (trigger setup). Previous code had 2 triggers (onOpen // createOnEditTrigger). I removed the onOpen trigger because it was redundant. I tweaked the script to fit what I was looking for but I keep running into this error “TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'source') onEdit”. I have limited knowledge on code but I think it’s saying it needs to be defined ? I don’t see e.source anywhere else

Hello, I have set up the script as you explained, however the lock does not work for me - the script sends two e-mails simultaneously. Do you maybe have a fix for that? Also I am interested in how to make it to work with two separate checkboxes within the same sheet: Checkbox A will send email to person A, and checkbox B will send different email to person B Thanks for your help!

Hey thanks for dropping in a comment. 1. Regarding sending two emails simultaneously, I tried the sheet on my end again and I only get one. Maybe try creating a new sheet and copy in the app script to go through the authentication process again. 2.
