Just a heads-up that Closer is kinda the outlier in TDS in terms of sound (though not in lyrics or tone), rest of the album is more metal/industrial. If you want albums that sound more like Closer then Hesitation Marks is probably the album that sounds the closest, with Pretty Hate Machine also similar but with a noticeable 80s style.

They have sweet melodies, sex anthems, raw sounds, commercial sounds, electronic heavy sounds, dance beats, weird structures, you name it. Sadly, this is why it is so hard to suggest NIN songs, especially albums for newcomers. They are bound to love a few songs from them, but you can't just tell them to listen to every single song of theirs and find what they like.
