Seneca Falls Walking Tour- It's a Wonderful Town!

Seneca Falls, New York, is a Wonderful town filled with attractions for travelers and tourists. In this outdoor walking tour video, I walk across Seneca Fall's Bridges, and tour downtown Seneca Falls by foot. Did you know that Seneca Falls is thought to be the inspiration behind Bedford Falls setting in the movie "It's a Wonderful Life"?
Seneca Falls is a town located in upstate New York that is famous for its historical significance in the women's suffrage movement. The town was the site of the Seneca Falls Convention in 1848, which is considered the birthplace of the women's rights movement in America. At the convention, leaders such as Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott drafted a Declaration of Sentiments, which called for women's equality and the right to vote. The convention marked a turning point in the fight for women's rights, and Seneca Falls continues to be a destination for those interested in the history of the movement.

Each year, the "It's a Wonderful Run 5k" is held in Seneca Falls. It starts on Bridge St. at the bridge that helped inspire the setting for "It's a Wonderful Life" that George Baily jumped off of in the movie. The 5k run/walk goes around the town of Seneca Falls and concludes with a run down Fall St. which is similar to the road George Bailey ran down in the movie.

There used to be the Strand Theatre in Seneca Falls in the mid 70s. Right at the 2:30 point in the video to the right. We used to go there to see Sunday matiness for $2 there. I was in junior high school. Most of the films were those low budget sci fi or horror films. Wonderful memories.

Went to Eisenhower College my freshman year when RIT bought it and put first year photo students there when it was a two year waiting list to go to Rochester. Liked Sneaky Falls, but it was a way station for the big action I wanted.
