Dude you could not have said it better when you state "It's like the Bugatti in motorcycles". I got 2014 zx-14R beginning of last year at a super deal as they were clearing out stock. And this to me, like you, is the best bike ever! Just a comfortable sport tourer that can keep up with ANYTHING on the road! All I recommend you do is get some sliders on there for added insurance & get a fender eliminator kit. Makes it look soooo much better. Later as you stated you are definitely going to want to change out the exhausts. The quietness is nice don't get me wrong. But you want to have cars hear and know you are near for safety. And I am not going to lie...once you hear that new throaty rumble. You will fall in love all over again. Not to mention, as a bonus, the added performance.

I have had 3 of these bikes. The most comfortable motorcycle I have ever owned, I have owned over 25 bikes. If you take off the very heavy exhaust you will see a very noticeable difference in handling. I would get a pair of Yoshimura slip ons. This is a Outstanding bike. Thanks for the review.

Seneca, you are in love, aren't you! So am I. These ZX are classy ladies. When you'll have several thousand miles on the clock, you'll be hitting about 200 miles per full tank. 180 if you mostly ride in town. I regularly hit 220, more if I cruise from London to the South OF France to say hi to my crowd. You chose well. I got the touring model that comes with curved up screen, akrapovic cans as well. I put an expensive American Sargent seat 'cause me bottom es muy précioso. The Akro cans are great but remove the mufflers. Cars will hear you, squirrels will think twice before charging at you and if you cruise with any decent helmet you won't be affected by the noise at all. American roads are amazing compared to those in the UK so you should have the fun of your life. My wife loves it too, and I grab every opportunity to see her in her leathers 😎

I have 4th zzr1400 and every one gets 2 slip ons( which give pleasant growling sound and lower the weight) from two brothers or something carbon fibre light weight, head light LED bulbs, chain oiler, heated grips as climate in Europe is not always warm.Bike has potential, comfy position for long rides and quality of components is built from is very fine.Get bike on dyno and on new cans you could get another 8HP extra. You can get 200 miles on full tank if you ride it easily.I can not find any faults with that motorcycle.Despite being heavy it handles very well.Kawasaki did great job to lower centre of gravity. On very first models break discs were getting warped, also valves cover was getting moisty.Simple 0,5mm washers on each bolt and silicone to make it dry for ever. Its definitely bike for more mature riders. If yuo had old Bandit or CBRxx that bike will be like from another world to you.

If you are new to riding, counter steer aggressively back to upright as you exit a turn or corner, while rolling on the throttle. Just try it randomly instead of letting it always come upright on its own. You will be surprised how fast it will rotate with forceful counter steering inputs. Additionally, it will instill muscle memory into you on what to do when you loose the front in gravel, oil, water, etc. You will instinctively counter steer it forcefully back up while giving it throttle to get the load off the front tire. As opposed to beginner's instinct to grab the front brake and put their foot down as the tire washes away and the bike falls over.

You know what bro. I lost myself in life. Stopped riding my R1. I felt like was limping for i years. Picked up a zx9r and i feel conplete again. You talk about that and sound like me about my r1. Its dope. Keep that ribber side down brother. Have fun. I would suggest (ive never ridden one) but on down shifts learn to give it a shot of throttle before releasing the lever so the heavy bike isnt just stopped by the hard clutch grab. Cheers homie.

Everything this guy has said about this bike is 100% on point let me tell you this once you own one of these your riding experiences will be changed forever because nothing will compare to this bike. I rode several bikes after this Yamaha F1 Yamaha R1,Suzuki GSXR 1000 And a couple other bikes but nothing came close to that 1400. I kept my 1400 for about a year and a half I put over 25,000 miles on that bike and I only rode it for fun it was not a primary means of transportation at all i’ve never rode a bike as much as I did this one. I could keep my ass off it LOL typically after a given period when you get off the bike it just doesn’t do it for you like it did at the beginning. I’ll tell you what the day I sold his bike when I got off that thing I said the same thing that I said the first time I rode it damn that bike is fucking fast. The first part is great but the handling of this bike is phenomenal! Kawasaki did their thing when they made that bike. If you have no desire to own one of these make it a mission to at least ride one one time

Be on the look out for Kawasaki putting out a Supercharged ZX-14R. I have a sneaking suspicion that they're not going to let the H2 stay at the top forever.

Don't bother if it is K&N filter you have to wash and oil. it lets in more air but the pore size is bigger. Also you will have to have a spare filter while it's drying. It's not worth the investment of time and energy. The engineers knew what they were doing when they considered the stock filter. You don't need any more power if any; it's purely academic. Cheers. Also do not waste money on aftermarket exhausts. they will be louder and you don't need anymore power. you will save some weight but not worth the expense. I see this all the time with new bike purchasers. total waste of money.

The ZX14r is a easy bike to ride fast from 0-299 klms, the ergonomics and torque and power make this bike deceptively fast. The added comfort of the buttery smooth engine and transmission with very little radiated heat coming from the big capacity engine make this bike perfect to ride in Australia. My ZX has the opposite colour scheme to yours , my green is where your black is, my best quarter mile is 10.18 secs which I achieved from my second ever drag run in my life on my standard bike.(with just over 1 year of riding under my belt). Its a cheap bike for the performance you get.... Expensive S1000rrs don't even get near 10.18 even with their launch control trickery.

I’m torn between this bike and the Z1000SX. I currently ride a.Suzuki VZR1800 power cruiser but I’m going to start commuting 150 miles round trip soon and need a second bike that can reduce that journey time to its minimum. The trip itself is mostly motorway (freeway) with wide sweeping turns but there are a few narrower roads and several spots where I’ll need to filter past standing or slow traffic. So I need a bike which can (1) cruise comfortably at 90-100 mph, (2) can quickly overtake and tuck back in with limited space ahead, (3) slip through between lanes full of traffic. Both bikes easily cover the first requirement (though I suspect the ZZR would be more stable in a straight line at high speeds) but I question the ZZR’s ability for (2) and (3) because of its size. Any thoughts as to which of the two bikes would best tick all of these boxes?

@Seneca McMillian, RN Welcome to the club! everyone who owns a 14R knows exactly how you feel. Do yourself a favor and save some cash by using 87 or 89 octane gas, she runs just fine with it, there's nothing to be gained by using high test fuel in this bike. Good luck and stay safe.
