Since Sengoku Basara 3, they have become rivals...besides, Sengoku Basara was never created to be 100% historically accurate. Itsuki and Kausga never existed and Magoichi Saika's gender was never concrete and there's not enough historical evidence to prove if there was a female Saika. "Magoichi" itself is simply a title belonging to the leader and best of the Saika faction. And...there were definitely no cyborg/Gundams back then (Tadakatsu)

More of a case of Yukimura defected to Mitsunari's camp after Tokugawa invaded his lands, and fought against Date during Siege of Osaka, where he was eventually killed during the Summer Campaign.
