Interesting and Instructive video. I work as an organ builder in a Workshop in London (UK). The talcum powder is a good idea, but when you are leathering motors it would add some extra time an effort, specially when you have to leather many. I leathered x244 long power motors recently, for Waltham Abbey (UK) organ. I fnd the talcum very handy to keep my fingers clean and avoiding it getting stuck or messing the leather. Nice work¡ Thanks for the video. I made a couple of ribbed motors recently, small ones, for a cuckoo like (clock) project. When the motors boards are narrow the cardboard ribs for the sides need to be away from the front cardboards, to avoid intersecting.

Excellent, and hard to find this info as to how to apply the stiffeners. No one else showed this. Thanks

I have playlists showing the various aspects of building two (2) Senior 20's (one with a conductor) and a Busker organ. If you can't find what you need there, you can always ask me. Thanks for watching. Please subscribe! That is what keeps this channel going. Ron

awesome tutorials Ron, just catching up with the series. Your filing from 0:35 almost sounds like a version of 'Flight of the bumblebee'

How did you figure out the middle section of leather length. The plans give the sides and height of the middle but not the length.

Senior 20 Organ (01) Bellows & Reservoir Part 1 kzbin.info/www/bejne/qmTJnoNvlJ6jmLM I do not have the plans in front of me at the moment. It seems like the leather was drawn out for the Busker but only the card stock stiffeners were dimensioned for the Senior 20. I got the impression John Smith thought everyone had built the Busker first. :-) After you have your bellows and reservoir built, you should know how long the middle and sides are. Lay out your leather on a template first and use the template to verify it is going to wrap around the bellows and reservoir satisfactorily and that you have allowed sufficient leather for the glue flaps and trimming after installation. Reference the above video. You just need to play around with it… dry run practice the installation, etc. before you go marking and cutting the leather. If you still have questions ask again… and somewhere I think I still have my templates and can dig out the plans and figure out where I got my dimensions. Ron
