Senior Dagar Brothers Nasir Moinuddin & Aminuddin Dagar | Gaud Sarang

So much of the Senior Dagar Brothers, Nasir Moinuddin Dagar (1919-1966) and Nasir Aminuddin Dagar (1923-2000) - as indeed with the younger duo, and other branches of the family - needs careful documentation and restoration.
Nasir Moinuddin Dagar's singing came the closest to that of his father, Nasiruddin Khan, according to many who had heard the latter. He trained under his father till the latter's death in 1936, and subsequently learnt from his uncles Riyazuddin Khan and Ziauddin Khan.
His concert tour of Europe with his younger brother in the 1960s earned great critical acclaim. It's such a pity indeed that even now, with technology allowing digital restoration, enough attention hasn't been given to some of these recordings.
It's the market, perhaps, and commercial viability, as they call it.
