I understand those who say don't waste your time if you aren't sure what your career goals are; however, I think that if your school is paid for and you get a stipend then you have nothing to lose. You get paid more for having a second degree. Also, this sets you up to get your doctorate if you want it. Even if your degree isn't in the field you end up working in, many jobs still honor your education and you get paid more. So if you have a full ride + stipend, go for it! I am currently in graduate school and as I am studying I am developing in my goals and figuring out that I have many options on what I can do with my degree and what my next step is (with regards to my education level). You don't have to have it all figured out! We are young! Of course do what you feel is best and don't force yourself to continue with school if that isn't what you want to do. Your teacher speaking with you is a blessing so definitely consider all your options! Good luck! (ps. study at least 3-6 months for the GRE to get a good score) Love your blogs! :)

What program would you pursue for grad school? It's not a bad idea, but if you don't really know what you want to do career-wise, it may be better to get some more professional experience before continuing with school. If you know the graduate degree will really be necessary for what you want to do, go for it. But from my own experience, I don't think it's a good idea to go just to say you have a master's degree. Make sure it's worth the time and effort.

Just a heads up Jayla, not sure if I heard you right since you got cut off but you definitely CAN study for the GRE. In fact, you should if you want a decent score. I recommend the ETS GRE book (because ETS are the ppl who make the test) and Magoosh 6 month study access because their videos (especially for math) are life. I just took it and got the score to get into my dream grad school program. Now, I'm looking for money too. P.S. we're the same year in college and it's rough studying for it while in school. Try to give yourself at least three months if you can since the test costs $205.

Hey Jayla! You can pay for a GRE prep class that will definitely help you study and learn how to take the GRE, I took one and it helped sooo much. Having actual class time with an instructor who can guide you through the prep materials and give you feedback was better than trying to study on my own especially while trying to focus on graduating in my experience. Also, try to give yourself enough time to take the test again if need be. Most people I know had to take the test at least twice. I know the uncertain feeling of being a college senior and not knowing where you will be at in life within the next year(s), but it will all work out the way it's meant to in the end girl, you got this!!!

Its great that you are considering Grad School. I went right after Undergrad and I work in Higher Ed now, word of advice; don't rush to make a decision. Those opportunities will still be there in the future. Make sure grad school is what YOU want and that it is actually necessary or helpful in your industry. I personally, wish I would've worked a couple years first to see what I enjoyed, didn't like, and where I wanted to be after having more life/work experience.

You actually can turn it down if you want. I don't take free things, if I don't really want it. But if you do really want to go, then go. It's completely your decision. I'm in grad school and to be honest its not easy nor is it difficult. GRE is simple but the challenge is you have to be time conscious and a fast thinker. I know this is your decision and the offer is super attractive, but give yourself at least 6 months to be sure if grad school is really what you want. I wish i had this advice, life would have been a little easier. But the ultimate question you need to answer everyday is WHO DO I WANT FOR MYSELF?!!!!
