Ugggghhhh, I am ugly crying!!! This brought back so many memories...BIG CONGRATULATIONS, c/o '20!! People who haven't rocked that navy and baby blue just can't fathom how surreal it is when it's your class' turn to kick on "Happy Feelings". I'll never forget being Miss Jackson State University my senior year and jetting at full speed across the muddy field (it rained CCC fall '04) in all white, heels and a big ol’ crown to get over there and kick with my class. I had to find a ride back to the yard and everything because the SGA bus left me but I didn't care lol. I pray that each and every one of these seniors goes on to do AMAZING things with all of the discipline, decorum, perseverance and drive that they've surely attained in their time in the Boom. Special congrats to my baby Marice Graham - you did it, girl!!! And um yeah...Rod, I need a senior portrait retroactively done because you know we didn't have those in our day and I love it (you can just photoshop an old band pic of me in the grove in the plaza and I'll be good with that😄). Bittersweet seeing the tuba players graduate, I graduate highschool this year, started in 2020 too. Ive been watching JSU since my sophomore year. Switched from saxophone to Tuba to be heard and became section leader this year. Modeled my section after the Dawgs. Even got the whole section on Mike Finn mouthpieces and learned the fanfares by ear. Always watched the newest video to see how our boys did. Although they may not know me, Proud of the dawgs. Was hoping Id get to ask the section leader some questions before he goes, but time passes on. Just applied to JSU.
