Senna Absolutely on the edge, overdriving and pushing beyond what that car was capable of handling. No wonder he ended up spinning. All 3 races he was alive in 94 he drove that car beyond what it was capable. 3 poles.

The car was capable. The aerobalance kept changing because the frontwing was too low. Please be precise :-) Senna would have won 94 and 95, 96 and 97.

@@Feuerbasis later that year, the fw16A was upgraded to the B version, much more stable. And Hill managed to challenge schumacher all the way to the last race. Had he lived, Senna would have easily won 94. What i mean is that Senna pushed beyond the car limits during those 3 races. Still what a remarkable racer he was.

@o209 While I agree with Senna's brilliance I don't think he would have easily won 94. Schumi would have absolutely walked it against Damon if he wasn't disqualified from the British GP and then banned for two races. Plus there was the DQ that was quite controversial at the Belgian Grand Prix. I think Schumi in that Benetton absolutely would have beaten Senna at Monaco, so that would have given him 4 wins and a huge advantage....unless we're factoring in that he would also have been banned if Senna was still racing. Anyway, we'll never know but I just don't think it would have been easy for Senna.

@@geraldo209don´t forget, that the cars had to be modified in the aftermath of Senna´s death. And Schumacher said, that those modifications were much more detrimental to the performance of his car than to Hill´s car. So, had Senna lived, the Benetton would´ve been stronger as it really was for the rest of the 1994 season.

The williams in 94 was pretty much a very unstable and hard to drive then the previous year. Yet Senna was driving the hell out of it and manage to tame it thro pure skills and experience. just look how he past Hill like he is standing still... Cause I feel like he kinda felt something was gonna happen and the race weekend at Imola was like a story nightmare for him. He sobbed and panicked the whole time. Desperately calling his girlfriend a lot. Talking to the FIA about safety and so on after what happened more then ever. He kinda I think felt his fate was this for awhile and as it came closer and closer this was the result. He even told sid when he asked him to quit saying he is the fastest driver we have ever seen if not ever. He has nothing else to really prove. Senna basically said that he simply couldn’t. There are things which we cannot control. I have to continue. I think he would’ve wanted to quit but he worked so hard his entire life he simply couldn’t and he still loved racing he just didn’t love what was happening. The Williams was a mess at the beginning of the year. A lot of cars were simply cause of the stability issues. I think senna always had high confidence in himself the difference is he didn’t have high confidence in the car anymore. He felt very much out of control and no one really knows or wants to know the helpless feeling he felt when the wheel broke and he went towards the wall with nothing he could do. Those 2 seconds probably felt life forever to him till it was suddenly just over. A lot weighed on senna that year. The break downs he had at imola that weekend was almost like he was desperate and wanted help. Almost like he kinda felt it or knew it. Not only did he feel it but sid said he felt it. Everyone at the time kinda felt it but no one really knew when or what it would be. He said he saw senna fly by his safety car like a bat out of hell not slowing down at all pushing the car super hard. He said right when the red flag came out he just instantly knew it was senna. No one really wanted to race that weekend after what happened before that but everyone felt like they had to. Senna had probably had the worst of it tho cause not only was he just getting really torn apart he also got killed in it. Really had a painful end emotionally. Im not religious or anything but it’s really strange the awareness he seemed to have that his fate was kinda known. He didn’t know exactly when cause if he did he wouldn’t of raced but he felt I think it was soon and it was in a formula 1 car. This may all sound like bs but I think it all kinda plays into how he felt that year. He didn’t seem like senna. He lacked the passion and want but he felt like he was forced to continue no matter what happened just cause he already went this far in his life and made this decision to a team and so on that he had to go into the unknown no matter what happened. It’s just very sad cause I think everyone else would’ve wished the race was canceled and would’ve wished that it didn’t take senna to prove how dangerous that wall was and it didn’t take senna to prove how f1 needs to improve safety and it didn’t take senna for the fia and every team to step back and improve the changes they made to make the cars better for the drivers so this wouldn’t of happened. We all wish he would’ve instead went to fish with Sid but it had to take something for all this change to be made cause that’s how unfortunately dumb the people in charge are. It shouldn’t take crashes to realize the obvious. It shouldn’t of taken a death and many crashes at spa to realize something needs to be done up there. Just like it’s gonna take someone to hit the pit wall at Baku to realize how unsafe it is. It’s just insane how we continue the same patterns.

The Benetton was an inferior car in 94. "Option 13" which was the hidden traction and launch control software helped them stay in front of a slightly nervous-handling FW16 at the beginning of the year. This is why Alain Prost was a superior driver to Senna - Prost would have settled for second to grab championship points and would have been patient in the early part of the year until Williams sorted out their handling issues.

He played a very active role in turning the team around. It would have been nice to see how Mick Schumacher would have done in racing if he had the guidance of his father, the way Max has.

@@filipposstavro1233Rubbish, Bianchi died purely due to Charlie Whiting not sticking to his own rules. Sutils crash 100% warranted a SC, but Whiting felt pressure to finish the race in fading light. Don't try and rewrite history. The old days were much better. There were very few secondary accidents due to cars broken down/spinning. The current system of SC for everything needlessly robs us of racing and strategy. F1 could be so much better, if they used SC for emergencies only. Even with the current rules, someone will die again in F1, it's the nature of racing and life. It is not worth sanitizing the entertainment out of F1, to stop freak fatalities every 20 years

Look... Schummi raced in 91, 92, 93 and 94 and he didn't win a pole position while Ayrton was alive! While Ayrton won in 11 championships 65 pole position, Schummi won in 19 championships just 3 poles more than Ayrton. And Ayrton with a low team (Lotus) won 8 poles in 1986, and he fighted for the title in 86 and 87, and McLaren didn't be more the best team after 1991, and Ayrton was second place in formula one 1993 world champion! I think Michael's in third place of best formula 1 drives, but Ayrton is simply the best!

No he wasn't. 1993 was arguably one of his best seasons. Hill had the marvellous FW15C and was beaten easily. Schumacher had the custom Cosworth engine more powerful than the Mclaren's. In 1994 early season the FW16 still had a lot of problems plus Benetton had traction control (cleverly implemented working around the regulation ban).
