Sennelier Soft Pastels

I just love how Picasso and Van Gogh and the Canadian folk artist Maude Lewis , Freda , and Monet, and Margret keen a more . So much true artist like me use the materials that I love . The colors of those soft pastels so amazing and I’ve tried many time Even oil pastels and the oil sticks and oil paints . 7:17

Thanks for your review! I just ordered this from Amazon for $112. Can't wait. I already have a 6 color set of the extra soft Sennelier and it is true, some of the darker colors are grittier and the lightest is like "butta." But I know I'm still gonna love using them. Sennelier doesn't add any clay to their pastels so it's just pigment and bit of binder, so gritty or super soft or in between, the individual pigments used dictate the softness.

You got a great deal! It seems like the price on this set bounces around a lot. I got them last month for $144. Now they are suddenly up to $160. It's weird! I'm trying not to use them till Christmas :) I feel like my Paul Reubens 72 is weak on blues, greens, earths & darks so I figured this would fill in the blanks nicely.

Hi, I was reading the reviews on these and I did order them already, some of the reviews said that the dark ones were very hard and dry, and the lighter ones were buttery and smooth, so it was inconsistent. Did you notice this as well?

Yes, I do. But I like the darker ones being a little harder. I usually use darker colors as my base layer, So it works out for my preferences. But it was only a few that are like that.

It is because various pigments vary in hardness/softness.

If you have to choose either set of Unison or Sennelier which one would you choose without price difference?

Im going to say Unison. I have picked up a few more since this video. I really like thier dark shades. Still haven't tried a Terry Lugwig yet!
