Hi again Guy. These might be very good aids. I don't know as I haven't tried them but I did some fairly thorough research when they were first announced and it appears they are very likely a re badge of another Sonova/Unitron model based on a now 5 year old platform.

Hey @peter7239! I don't know about you, but I'll gladly take a new Mercedes from 5y ago over many, many new cars! Wouldn't you? 😁 But, joking aside, I tested every aspect of these aids from quality, connectivity to Android and iOS, Bluetooth connectivity to many different devices, and sound and amplification quality in different situations and environments. These hearing aids' performance is unquestionable! I'm not someone that's impressed easily and these aids, which you can now buy for around $950 (in the USA), impressed me. 👍 Give me an alternative with all these features and similar pricing and I'll be happy to review it as soon as I can.

Agreed about the Merc!.... but what irks me is that Sonova went to the trouble of acquiring a company with a solid reputation in the audio industry and then used that reputation to market a product developed long before they had acquired any interest in sennheiser! Not unusual of course. Signia/Sony have done the same.

Im getting my first hearing aids from a local audiologist (phonaks) , i thought id try them to see if they help. Do you have any idea if they will help tinnitus and sound sensitivity both? Or is it a waste of time trying them?

Hi @erikcaldwell2913, If your tinnitus is caused by hearing loss, which is the case for most people who suffer from tinnitus, then the answer is yes! Using hearing aids for as many hours per day as possible should definitely alleviate your tinnitus and sound sensitivity symptoms. If this is your first time using hearing aids, you will probably need to adjust gradually. Everything may sound weird and too bright during the first few hours to a couple of days. 😁 Give your brain a chance to adapt to the hearing aids gradually. Your audiologist will likely explain this process to you as well. After a few days or weeks, you should notice that the more you use your hearing aids each day, the less bothersome your tinnitus should become. With consistent use, the alleviation effect will increase over time. To achieve the full effect, you need to continue using your hearing aids consistently. Keep in mind that different people experience improvement over different periods. You might notice improvement within days, but it could also take weeks. In any case, the effect should become stronger as the months pass, up to a certain point. Once you are completely accustomed to your new aids, I strongly recommend incorporating sound therapy into your daily routine. This should deliver another significant level of improvement for both tinnitus and sound sensitivity. Good luck! Guy.
