Cant‘t confirm this in any way. I had the Sonos beam 2 with sub mini and changed it for the mini. At least in my big living room the Sennheiser has a much better sound than the Sonos. The soundstage is also much wider than the beam. And in movie mode the mini has too much bass. Here is the only bad thing about the mini, because the bass doesn‘t sound good and is way too much at low background sounds. But using soundprofile natural solves this and has a very natural voice reproduction. There’s really no need for an extra sub. I bought the sennheiser sub just for testing, and the bass with it in standard settings was even lower than that from the mini. Would really recommend to test the mini. I‘m pretty sure in a direct compare no one would find the Sonos anywhere as good as the mini.

Sonos bought them, like they do with everyone.

What do you mean no one would find the Sonos as good as the Mini?

@@marcfavellit means that noone who heard both soundbars would ever say the Sonos sounds as good as the Sennheiser. There are really worlds between them

Sennheiser has been an audio powerhouse YEARS before Sonos. They know what they’re doing. Every Sennheiser soundbar lineup is better than anything Sonos has to offer. The only thing Sonos has the one up on is the addition of surround speakers

Sennheiser showed their soundbards on Montreal Audiofest last weekend. They sure sound really good vs any built in TVs but no way will replace a good 2-channel setup. 😊

@RTINGScomAudio Please don't compare anything to the horrible Sonos. They're a disgusting company who discriminate people based on their phone OS.

Thanks for the video review, Vanessa! I'm looking to buy my first soundbar for a PC setup, I wanted something that is compact and with good stereo soundstage, as surround for this size seems impossible. I don't need it loud, as it would be playing in a little-to-medium sized room. According to your tests, the Sonos Beam Gen 2 seems like the obvious choice! It has better stereophony than most soundbars (like the JBL Bar 5.0 MultiBeam, the Samsung HW-S60B, etc.), has room correction (unlike the Bose Smart Soundbar 600), and has excellent bass for its format (more than this Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar Mini for example). You've been of a great help, other sites often recommend the Ambeo Mini without taking into consideration its lack of bass and soundstage compared to the Sonos Beam 2, surely because they think everyone wants to have a separate subwoofer. If it had a better soundstage and more punch, as you said, I would have chosen the Ambeo Mini without a doubt.

@@attilab.2818 Long story short I didn't and went with the Bose 600 instead, because it has a subwoofer port. I also didn't want to lock myself in the Sonos ecosystem, however great was the soundbar. And it's for Apple people, it shows. I'm an Android guy.

@@Julzaa Are you happy with the Bose 600 ?
@Julzaa4 ай бұрын
@@d.3671 I am, but the biggest reason I went with the Bose is its regular subwoofer port so I can use the subwoofer I already have. So if I was willing to put more money on the table to get a Sonos mini subwoofer then I'd have bought the Sonos. Sonos vs Bose without a subwoofer, Sonos wins (software & hardware). Sonos vs Bose+subwoofer for the same price, Bose wins (fortunately!). I'm just sad that I don't have an eARC port on my PC, I'm relying on optical with Dolby Digital 5.1 maximum, using a software solution to convert the other codecs (DD Plus, TrueHD, DTS etc) into it. Otherwise it's LPCM 2.0. Turns out the feature I thought I would use sometimes only (Surround) is everywhere on PC content, from movies to games pretty much everything can be surround.

I’m going to give this a try because the Sonos Beam gen 2, which is great, does not stay connected to my Samsung S95B television. Samsung blames Sonos and Sonos blames Samsung. It’s been over six months since the issue emerged and after multiple firmware updates, the issue remains unresolved.
