Hi , great interesting video, yes I agree the build quality is not that great, the 599 is a bit better, I notice the price can be up to $199 in the us, but in the Uk they are about £130 , yes the cable is rubbery and not that great also, I replaced mine with van damme silver plated with neutrik rean connectors for only £18, for a 3m length. I also replaced the pads for 1” thick ones and help with the bass a bit. I got this idea from old set hd575s which also had thicker pads over the stock ones which sennheiser have fitted. With these pads they are extremely comfortable. I have done these mods to hd660, 6xx, hd660s2 and all these headphones are much more comfortable. Regards mark

@@6643bear hey Mark! Thanks for the comment. I'd love to try messing around with the pads and cables, unfortunately I live way too far from most fast/free shipping zones, so orders take months. But I'll save your comment for whenever I get the chance to try them out. Did you notice any difference after changing the cable, say, RFI or durability wise?

@@anas_voice_over hi thanks for your reply , the build and connector quality far better than stock and have replaced all my headphones cables , also cable is thicker , this company does all cable fir a big range of different headphones manufacturers, as am 65yrs old I am not noticing difference but you being a younger person you probably can, I can detect differences in bass with pads however, I kept with velour but as you know other materials can change the sound signature . It's good to see a recent review like this, since what's being shipped from amazon these days is the silent revision 560s. I felt like the changes hurt the fine detail and instrument separation. You should try mackie mc-450 if you want to hear roughly a dt990 upgrade with less bass. Way under-reviewed. a simple eq curve would be 70hz -6db high shelf, 5700hz -6db q7 peak, and 9000hz -4db high shelf

@@jacksonredstone9530 I agree. Many things to do with quality control and fine tuning are silently being changed under people's noses and it isn't right. I have heard of the mc450 but I haven't got the chance to try it yet! The eq curve you describe sounds fairly different than the stock one, I'm assuming. Wouldn't that be a whole other headphone at that point? 🙂😉

@@anas_voice_over Tonality in headphones is something that's mostly disconnected for me. When mixing music, both the tonalities and volume levels within the music and the headphones are initially part of the same equation, and need to be referenced to preexisting music. After some time though, the tone of most headphones (unless too extreme) is subconsciously learned and becomes my "new neutral", and I can make the same judgements as I could if I were used to a flat source or something else. this lets me switch between sources and make pretty accurate tonal adjustments in a matter of seconds or minutes, while instead hearing the difference in techs and presentation. The bass on the mc450 is weak in volume, and more challenging but still viable for me to mix that region on without eq. The bass is also the tightest and punchiest I've heard, slightly surpassing the edition xs and hd600. This is easier for me to appreciate with eq since it's entering the slightly masked territory. The main attraction for these headphones IMO is the various techs and overall hyper-revealing nature I've only seen in the $300-500 area, but more than that I probably shouldn't say if you may be making your own review. Nevertheless, I don't feel like eq changes almost any of this.

@jacksonredstone9530 thanks for the inept info about this. I'm now even more curious to try it out. Not many people also look into the volume part of it as u mentioned, that's very, very important.

@@justino9042 I haven't had the opportunity to, but I've heard that the xs is amazing, and the se, though that the SE needs proper quality to drive it :)

HD 560S comfortable?... Are you kidding 😅😂 What about the huge clamping force that everyone complaining? These can be described as top notch sound ruined by the rubbish trashy manufacturing.

After a few weeks, it gets more comfortable, once the pad breaks in. On the other hand, the glue which holds the cushions of the headband always pulls out my hair - man, you can feel the force of that adhesive. Personally, I like the HD6XX on tubes more because of their tonality. To me, the HD560S is a bit harsh (I used it for more than a year before switching to the 6XX and I still have both on my table), while the slight warmth of the HD6XX just pleasing my ears. Yet, there are certain songs and situations, where the 560S just better than the 6XX. For me overall, 6XX is a better choice if you have tube amps, for just using the headphone without a proper DAC, the HD560S is the better choice, as it needs less power.

I returned 2 pairs since now just for being way to tight on my head. I have a big head tho😂

I unfortunately agree. The clamping force is a bit much. But I've had headphones fall off my head before so I kind of don't mind it. The clamping force being high on closed backs is where the pressure truly builds up! @@letalmike

@@bazsko9600I agree! Honestly, one headphone genuinely doesn't feel enough. There's different tones and characters to each headphones. The hd560s isn't on the warmer side and the 6xx is, the build quality and looks are very different aswell, to be honest. Oh and... Portability. But yeah, I'd love to try those sometime too :)
