Hi mate, We bought 4 of these along with Behringer xr18. We are getting a terrible White Noise on our inears. Nothing to do with the frequency because we tried it in almost all of the available frequencies. Tried using new xlrs, different guitars, everything. The mix from the mixer directly has no white noise. It’s only when the signal is coming from the sennheiser. We also tried using earphones directly from the transmitter without engaging the receiver and still getting that terrible hiss. Did some research and most common solution was to “deal with it” or get a IEMatch adapter. Do you or anyone know any other workaround?

I followed these steps and everything worked fine except that I lost the click. I can still hear backing tracks but no click. When I switch back to shared mix the click comes back. Any idea why it does this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated A few months ago I built two 10-U rigs for live sound for my wedding bands. I’m using the Behringer x32 for my digital mixer/audio interface. I purchased four Sennheiser IEM G4 systems. The first and only one of the four has this terrible error. When I set the frequency and unmute the transmitter, the receiver on the battery pack shows the right side of the AF skyrocketing and there is an awful, persistent high pitch noise I can’t get rid of. Even though I’m sending no sound yet. I’ve tried dozens of open frequencies, changed cables, used a different battery pack for the transmitter, messed with the squelch, nothing has worked. Does anyone have any experience with this issue or know a fix? Please and thank you.

i see pilot tone on the receiver but not transmitter?
@emersonburris693 жыл бұрын
You can't turn the pilot tone off on the transmitter. You can only set the receiver to evaluate the pilot tone or not. You cannot have the receiver set to receive a pilot tone if the transmitter is in mono mode. Since the transmitter doesn't send the pilot tone in mono mode, you will have RF mute on the receiver if you have the pilot tone evaluation turned on.

Interesting. We can usually get extreme distances. Have done the channel scan on the beltpack unit to find the best channels? You can also upgrade to a helical antennae. Also defiantly make sure to keep these as far away as you can from your wireless mic systems to avoid cross talk.

If i have 2 instrumentalists sharing the same transmitter (ex: keyboard and guitar) can each musician adjust their volume differently? Example, guitar is 2A and Keyboard is 2B...2A wants to hear louder than 2B on his ear or 2B wants louder than 2A. Will this possible or each has their own transmitter?

Jay Perez yes if you run 2 separate mixes to one transmitter then you can have the receivers set up one to receive 2A and one to receive only 2B and it will work great.

Hey guys, thanks a lot for the video. We try to use two units in rack along with Art S8 3Way and Behringer XR18. We want a stereo mix in ears but we kinda struggle with connecting it all. So far we just plugged AUX from xair into g4 mono input and set focus mode, but we'd like to go stereo. Do you know any good materials or maybe you know how that could work? Cheers
@matthewluedtke3467 Жыл бұрын
Not sure why you'd want a stereo signal for monitoring. You'd need a difference between R and L on a channel for it to matter. Regardless, you'd need to send R to one Aux and L to another and plug each in R and L respectively. I think the way you're doing it, you'd want your bodypack to be set to stereo, and you should get sound out of both sides. Hopefully that's helpful.

I just got this setup for our band, took it to practice, got it working and it suddenly quit. I’m using the headphone feed from the board to give the bandleader and lead guitarist the mix that the audience gets... or that is the idea. I don’t even get sound if I plug in to the headphone jack on the transmitter. There is no reading on the right bar. Tried re-syncing the body packs and the transmitter. The main problem is that i have no idea what I’m doing. I am trying to fix that. Not really that keen on the manual as an interactive app. Maybe that’s how the twenty somethings roll. I’m in the “give me a fekkin paper manual with a table of contents and a good index” age group.

Make sure your transmitters are set to STEREO and your body packs to FOCUS and hard panned. I run 4 transmitters with 8 body packs Stereo/Focus like your setup... I can barely hear the the left in the right and i mean BARELY...... but as soon as you mix something into it it gets lost pretty quick.
@emersonburris693 жыл бұрын
This is a known issue because of how the receiver sums L and R to a mono feed. There can be some bleed through from one channel to the other. Sennheiser mentions this on their website. This two packs on one transmitter technique should not be used in a pro setting.
@TotalEvo72 жыл бұрын

What's the process for deciding which frequency to use? I figured there would be an automatic mode or method for finding the best frequency? Manually should I just cycle through a ton of different ones to see which yields the least amount of noise? this seems tedious so I'm probably just not understanding something simple.
@craigaldrich58474 жыл бұрын
There is a scan frequency option in setup that looks for unused frequencies. You don't need to be connected to a network or a computer to use that feature. Go to the Sennheiser website and pull down the product PDF before you purchase. It is explained there.
@bvaladez744 жыл бұрын
So if you're sharing one transmitter with 2 packs, using Focus mode to separate to 2 independent mixes, when syncing both belt packs to the same transmitter, are both packs sharing one frequency? Or does the G4 somehow allow transmission of 2 different frequencies? Also, if you are sharing the same frequency to both belt packs, wouldn't that cause static interference?
@emersonburris693 жыл бұрын
Generally no, because the belt packs are receivers. They shouldn't interfere because they are only "listening". That being said because of the way the receivers sum the L and R channels, you can sometimes get slight bleed through to one channel or the other, especially if one signal is stronger than the other. Users have reported this, and this effect is also mentioned on Sennheiser's website. Cool little cheat to save some money or get out of a bad spot if you had to, but not recommended.
