Simple Choice and 3 reasons why. 1) MDAQS The Multi-Dimensional Audio Quality Score results indicates BOSE Quiet Comfort Ultra is much better than the SONY WH-1000XM5. 2) Sony XM5 release date May 2022 MSRP $399.99 and Bose QC Ultra release date October 2023 MSRP $429. aka release date (age) and original pricing. 3) 2024 Holiday sale XM5 $299 and QC Ultra $329 both dropping $100. affordability as Sony XM5 should be discounted more because it is a year older than Bose QC Ultra. On the other hand, the best audio/sounding BT headphones are the Sennheiser Momentum 4 release date August 2022 MSRP $349 and now on sale for $229 as $120 less. The Momentum 4 MDAQS rating is about equal to the Bose QC Ultra. Another thing: Momentum 4 just sounds better than Bose or Sony probably because of the 42mm dynamic drivers. The best affordable Bluetooth headphone which cost less of the 3 is Momentum 4. The quality is better than the Sony XM5 and just a small notch below the Bose QC Ultra.

I recently bought the M4s, having owned a pair of M3s for the last 3 years. I love the M3s; mainly for the sound quality, and what they can handle with increased volume and equaliser tweaks. In that regard, I am an audiophile. The M3 sound quality isn't that great with ANC turned on (they crackle on full volume), but they sound amazing with it turned off. The M4s are significantly inferior to the M3s in terms of sound quality: I used the personalization feature on the app, which dramatically improved the sound quality, but they crackle on full volume, and can't handle the settings on the app! The M3s can handle FAR more, and sound WAY better on higher volumes. It isn't even close! If you don't mind your music played at mid-level volume, then you won't notice a massive difference (once you've used the personalization feature on the app), but you won't be able to listen to your favourite tracks on full volume. I found this to be absolutely shocking. You can't even deativate the ANC/transparency setting - you can only tweak it. I'm so disappointed, that I'm returning my M4s to Amazon. I'll stick with the M3s, which are still the best sounding wireless headphones on the market, and are far superior to the M4s with sound quality.

I bought Momentum 3 for 140 Euro. The sound is excellent.

@@LaurenceOConnor-fg4dk yeah I will remove my comment above, They are awesome, I was just too used to my 458BT, but 140 was a steal, I would never find that so cheap here in Spain, I cant even use my 458BT, inferior in every way

​@@LaurenceOConnor-fg4dk Glad you think so. I experienced a lot of distortion after using the in-app audio enhancement/optimisation feature, and playing electronic/dance music on higher volumes. For this reason, I was very disappointed with them, and it makes them far inferior the M3s in terms of audio. For context, Sonova took over Sennheiser's consumer audio division in 2021, and have changed the sound profile of their headphones, including the M4s. This is why they aren't as good as the M3s. Feel free to double check this information. Hope you continue to enjoy your new headphones. 140 Euros sounds like a bargain.

Besides bass m3 and m4 are very simular in sound. With eq both could sound almost same. They use same driver. M4 just cant deliver bass like m3. If you want best of it try somewhere in upper right zone in sound personalization. But dont expect same impact and naturality from bass of m4. I dont mind this inferiority since except bass and material quality m4s are superior from every angle. I've never heard crackle at full volume btw. You probably added too much bass for m4 to handle. Same thing happens to m3 too if you do that. Go upward in sound personalization to fix.

Nope, work better blocking the sound with it off, and using cables, because it has some bs awarness bs even when off. So when ppl talk, not very effective at all, except certain frequencies I assume. If you walk and a car going on road, it amplify the the wheel sound no matter what mode you in. So you can say, yeah safer, but for me annoying. I think something loose or bad mic placement or something to since I got it in my left ear, maybe just me but. Sound it is not as good as others for music, but fantastic for movie and series!

Be careful after Sennheiser HD 4:50 i switched to "audiophilic" headphones, cheapest ones currently I have Fiio fh5s (and i love them ) 😂. And now i want to buy Sennheiser Momentum ❤

I think you are paid for this review. I just got them and the sensor which is supposed to stop playing when headphones are taken off; sometime is working sometimes doesn’t. Increasing volume by touching is not always responsible. People nowadays may discover dishonest reviews. You did mention some positive things and you will be paid.
