I have had these for three years. I like this set very much, but there's one big problem. Pro: 1. the range is awesome (I take the elevator to the underground parking garage in our concrete apartment building and not a glitch listening to my PC on the 2nd floor, not even in the elevator). 2. The sound is just fine, also for listening to music (not audiophile quality obviously but still). 3. The battery life depends on the batteries of course but even on 6 month old rechargeables with many hours of daily use they last me the entire day. I just keep a spare set of non-rechargeables for when I forget to put them on the recharger. There's ONE very very very bad problem though: if no sound came through for two minutes, the base set switches off the sending, and the headphones will blast white noise on your eardrums AT FULL FUCKING VOLUME! There's a small click 1 second before the noise hits you and my brain has become conditioned to instruct my arms to slam the set off my head on that click, which is how I know that the headset can also take a large number of drops. All in all, very good value for money BUT watch out for that white noise.

I remember the first time I found out about that for myself it's similar to those ear rape videos that used to be all over the internet "rip headphone users" if you remember that saying I just wish they made a Bluetooth version

The transmitter turns off after 5 min if there's no sound, so you'll get blasted by white noise. There's no other transmitter setting. I don't recommend this headset also the sound is not that good.

Unfortunately they discontinued the RS185 otherwise that would be the upgrade to get if you want an open-back, wireless, radio frequency headphone. Now there is literally nothing else but the RS120-RS135. Big gap in the market.

I have an old RS130 which has decent sound and works well honestly. The real issue to consider and it seems the same there is that the jack cable is built in the transmitter so if for any reason you have a small cut on the cable, you can say goodbye to your whole setting. I have had two RS130, the first cable broke too much to be usable. My last one still works after 15 years but I have again a small cut. It works but I have to turn the cable in a certain angle else the sound is pretty broken. I purchased so a RS175 plus HDR185 in order to have separated cables to change them in case of a problem. In my opinion, if they build a cable into the whole transmitter like in RS120 and 130 they should provide a thicker cable to protect the actual metal For the « static » and noise, my tip is to put the volume at the maximum level on your device THEN reduce the level on the headset. From my experience it reduces both noise and pretty much annihilates disconnection issues

@@geekanoids are they comfortable for prolonged periods, like 3-4 hours? Also some reviews mention them slipping off easily - is this the case? Only thing putting me off is the flat (over the ear) design, whereas my Sony pair have over he ear “cups”

I just bought these headphones and have the same issue, the static when program is paused or stopped is dreadful. Easy solution is to push to off button on the left side and turn it back on again when ready to resume program. Annoying extra step but better than that awful sound. These should have been recalled not sold.

mine has 3 channel switch on base set, perhaps the earlier mk2's did not. Also the input had two plugs that could direct connect into stero tv for example and an adapter to with a phone,pc, mp3 player etc. Tuning sometimes shifted but a slight adjustment on head is easy once used to it. i'm happy with my set so far.

maximum high or low frequency response doesn't matter, it's the quality of the reproduction of the actual audible spectrum....though it is useful to provide specs. damn good pair of headphones though. would like to get my hands on a set of RS-180s to see how they compare. if going up in numbers = even better quality.

Didnt have time to trade it in for something else and i have no alternatives for you. Still use it and the static still gets me a couple of times a week. There's another annoying feature that lowers the volume whenever a sudden loudness pop's up (explosion, gunfire etc). I'd buy something cheap now, save up and buy something a bit more expensive.

Nice review, parabens! Regarding the quality of the audio, using the wireless microphone, the audio quality is the same as a headset wired? For example, I have the Sennheiser HD 202 headphone, that wireless RS120 model would have the same quality? Sorry for the excess questions! I intend to buy this wireless headset to use the Desktop to hear music!

I got mine as a gift but they are going straight back. The interference not horrendous. But there is a mild amount of background static which gets very very annoying. No matter how much I adjust it or move the transmitter or change the channels the static will not go away. Either a terrible product or terrible quality checking. Very unimpressed. Good review thou.

I think they are very very uncomfortable, I suffered real physical pain from using them. I bought replacement ear pads from the bay and they are fantastic they manage to cover the ear instead of pressing against it. I also had a lot of interference, I tracked this down to my router or my cell phone. I moved the phone and set the router channel to auto and that solved my issue. Given that I bought them on the cheap, less than half, then I would say they are good at that price. I would not pay 100 quid for them. The replacement ear pads really are a must unless you enjoy torture.

I've had these for 10 years. They're... OK. Over time, the charging becomes more problematic and you have to really position the heaphones exactly on the stand. The audio is passable, at best. Bass is quite poor, much worse than wired headphones. Loud sequences see to cut out, then the audio resumes. I'm getting a lot of noise/static when connecting to the 3.5mm headphone output (and then an RCA splitter) on a new Sony TV, but that may be the RCA splitter. I haven't replaced the rechargeable batteries in 10 years! In fact, until I saw this review, I'd forgotten that the unit actually has replaceable batteries! Overall, I wouldn't buy them again.

rs120 are absolutely without a doubt the worst headphones ever! the sound quality is terrible, Their is always a static and yes I did tune it and their is still a loud annoying static, my ears do get warm, no bass, and terrible build quality, who was the idiot to build these! I bought them and it was the worse mistake of my life, everyone said they where special but did you know they only leave nice remarks about the headphone cause they are sponsering their product! yea and they are making money off of it, if you like bass, music, design, or anything in a headphone dont buy these. i would reccomend a doller tree pair of headphones.

I wouldn't buy these purely for the shitty designed padding on the ear cups.. It's just a flat piece of foam which would make your ears hot, especially in summer.
