Thank you so much for all this information. Yes, at 83, I’m one of those people that never read manuel’s, and then when I get stuck, I don’t know where to turn to. I purchased my Sennheiser 100’s when they first came out. I’ve already replaced the antennas twice, so you know the wear I’ve put into them. Since I don’t do events anymore, only professional interviews, I didn’t realize the my frequencies (650Mhz) are no longer legal even though they still work just fine. Thank God I’m NOT doing productions anymore. Thank you again for your fine tutorial, especially the use of Banks & Channels.

Thanks a lot. I have had one for 2 years now, and always thought you had to use an XLR to adjust the sound. This has been a big help
@xlseeor13 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much. I was at a live event with a pair of these mics. One was working properly and the other sounded slightly distorted. After watching your video, I was able to quickly make adjustments for perfect sound...just in the nick of time.
@havanesepuppies16 жыл бұрын
The advice is good. Out of the box the mic itself was clipping. We had to reduce the sensitivity on the transmitter to -30 after testing the defaults with two different talent. In the end -30 resulted in clean sound with no clipping. NOTE: it was not clipping at the camera, it was clipping in the units themselves.

What are we? Nine years on? I hadn't used my kit for a while, and needed a refresher, and your guide is so simple and straightforward, and my settings were most definitely not optimum, so I'll add my thanks to the long list of other people who found this useful. Something occurred to me while watching this... There was a stage at the event I was filming today, and I got some footage of the one of the bands. The sun was on me, so the sound guys invited me into their shade tent, and I didn't think to ask if they were using wireless. I think probably not, but I did get some interference, which is why I am watching this...
@ronaldwolf25995 жыл бұрын
Trevor; Did you figure out what the interference was due to? I too, do stage productions, and audio interference would be a real problem.
@MattHeadleyNC16 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this video! One thing sort of left out is Pilot has to be on for both receiver and transmitter in order to work. Easy to figure out, but someone might not think of it.

Good tutorial. I've being using them for over 7 years now. I prefer flow between -30 to -20, due to G2 super easy way of distortion on an input stage i.e. on Transmitter side, if person would yell at -20 it'll clip the hell out of the transmitter i/p. And thus will clip the output. It's about balancing the i/p gain and o/p gain of the receiver to get good strong level, and then adjust it more finite on the i/p of the recorder or camera. I find this work the best.

Good tutorial. Its needed. I have two 8 unit systems. MKE 2 ME 2 great mics . Great range on the transmitter. The weakest part of the entire system is the CHEAP 3.5mm plug on the end of the lavalier. It turns the entire system into junk. New plugs are about 9 bucks each. If yours haven't quit yet , they will. Nothing like having a theater full of people paying 30 dollars a seat and having a chep plug ruin the job. I have used Sennheiser gear for the last 35 years This is unlike Sennheiser

I had the same issue. Very easy, you plug the receiver to the camcorder and the mike to the transmitter. If you plug the transmitter to the camcorder you get that static noise.

Thanks for your comment! The CL1 cable is an 1/8" miniplug to 1/8" miniplug for connecting the Receiver to consumer cameras that do not have an XLR input. Most consumer cameras only have a miniplug input. So it's an extra cable in your case. Hope this helps!

You might want to look at getting a BeachTek or JuicedLink XLR audio adapter for two inputs. You'll need a receiver for each transmitter. It is a 1:1 ratio unless you look at something like the Big Ole Audio Technical 1800 dual channel.

Use a separate recorder such as an Edirol R-44. Or get the Sennheiser Wireless and a 1/4" to 1/8" cable to send a LINE level signal right into the SK100 wireless body pack transmitter from the mixer.

Thanks for a great video. I was wondering whether it is posible to manually dial in a frequency that is already being used i.e. a Priests wireless frequency for his wireless mic during a wedding ceremony. This would mean that I wouldn't have to add a second lav mic onto them for my audio and could simply pick up their audio via my receiver?

@dvestore Thank you very much for the answer! So, my receiver is not defectiv!? It's the most important for me now. What do you mean by "Pan it center"? Is that special setup cable? It was great to navigate through the entire menu and get familiar with the units. However, I'm having several problems. The factory default brings me to 661.850 MHz and by switching banks, I can only get it down to 627.25 (bank7) In addition, the RF button is not lit and the receiver says mute next to pilot reading. please help, I've used another set of these before but never had this much trouble setting them. Would like to buy my own if I can get more comfortable with them. Thanks!

Hi, I have purchase the Sennheiser G2 on eBay, and after setting everything up (using your tutorial), I got just Left Chanel working. The seller, told me, that he called Sennheiser, and they say, that it's a MONO microphone and the signal goes either to the Left or Right chanel. It does not sound to me good. Can you please confirm that G2 is MONO or STEREO??? Thanks
