One of these days I went to your video catalog looking for a new episode, thinking I might have missed the new one. Really like these episodes of "Jermo and Friends". Meike was excellent and brought a new perspective. Jermo is always good at listening and adding to the conversation. Even worked as a translator in some portions of this interview. Give that man a raise. I've wanted to ask the following question for a while, since Jermo spoke about this in the past before (IE 600 Q&A stream, if I'm not mistaken) and it was a topic for this episode. Wireless phones (ear or head) have been using real-time DSP for many years now. What is stopping manufacturers from including active DSP in wired versions? Power limits? Cost constraints? Thank you.

Back then it took simulations took weeks and weeks, but I assume even with computational progress, still simulations take weeks, since with increased computations engineers make the simulations more accurate and more computationally intensive. Could you tell us the rough time consumptions of current simulations at Sennheiser, and if it is not internal info, what type of computers are used to run the simulations ?

There's no hard, fast answer to that because there are so many variables to consider that it may be a minor adjustment or a completely new design.

Excellent work! I have to say that ear pads are very important to the overall sound performance of a headphone. For example the HD800 has changed the rubber/plastic rings behind the earpads in a certain time so the HD800 after around S/N 10000 sounds different than the previous--More Bass, less mid.

Do the names of your guests/engineers appear somewhere? I think they deserve to be mentioned (in episode titles maybe) so we can read and know their names (no so easy to hear/understand all foreign names). Keep up with your great job!

You talked about DSP for high end headphones. Does HE1 get any DSP corrections?

Why does Sennheiser use dynamic drivers in almost all of their headphones and IEMs? Is it because Sennheiser wants to keep natural sounding of dynamic drivers, than detailed sounding of other driver types? Planar drivers or balanced armatures often give better details and resolution than dynamic drivers in most cases at the cost of sounding less natural.
