Like that they are metal and from Sennheiser. Used my ME-2 mic with my Rode Wireless Pro and a couple of times, and I somehow didn't make the connection right and only had recording on 1 side. With this system, the mic should connect with no issues, unless I mess it up.

Wow, finally a Sennheiser system for creators, that's small and portable. It would have been nice to have 32bit float to compete with the other guys but, I'll take Sennheiser quality.
@sennheiser2 ай бұрын
Hi there, we appreciate your kind words! 32 Bit float audio recording is supposed to make internal recordings "un-clippable", but sadly this is not fully true as it does not prevent the microphone capsule from overloading on loud noises - which will also cause the recording to clip. With Profile Wireless we have chosen another path to minimize the risk of audio clipping: Internal stereo-recording. Instead of increasing from 24 to 32 bit, our Profile Wireless features stereo recording on its internal microphone that records with two different audio levels, thereby maximizing the used audio bandwidth of the microphone capsule and reducing the chance of clipped audio. Stereo recording is also applicable when an external lavalier is connected.

@@sennheiser i dont use 32 bit for not clipping. i use it to not worry about gain staging and being able to safely record both channels. this was probably a pricing issue. im guessing that getting 32 bit converters inside that thing would have been a lot more expensive.
@maximilianmustermann57632 ай бұрын
@@jerry.berumen With 24-bit recording on a quality system, the noise floor is already so low, you can basically record at -30 dB and nobody will notice a thing when you put a 30 dB gain on it later. At least as long as you're not necessarily trying to record audiophile HiFi for the next Grammy nominations (but then you wouldn't be using a wireless system anyways)
@jonathanbergqvist48972 ай бұрын
24 bit files are actually extremely versatile, and as many have pointed out, you can add a ton of gain in post production without introducing more noise than if it were to be 32 bit. 32 bit is a bit of a gimmick IMO.

Is it possible to remove and replace the rechargeable batteries in the transmitters and receiver? This is a design flaw present in all mic systems similar to this and I'm surprised it doesn't get talked about more. Rechargeables only have a certain amount of recharge cycles and built-in obsolescence sucks.

So, no 32-bit float, but is there timecode? What is the price and when is it available?
@sennheiser2 ай бұрын
Our Profile Wireless retails for $299 and is primarily designed for aspiring filmmakers, content creators and mobile journalists who mostly prefer a small and easy-to-use setup. Timecode is a great tool for professional film productions or large setups with multiple cameras and audio sources, but does require further expertise on the user-side. Nevertheless, the Profile Wireless works perfectly with multi-camera setups as audio-synchronization can easily be achieved through the leading editing-softwares without the need of timecode.

Please tell me there’s an option to always be automatically recording backup audio, so far I’ve only seen a manual toggle or auto record when dropped signal. I don’t want to have to manually remember to start backup recording and want the option for the better quality backup audio, please tell me there is an option for permanently toggling backup audio recording on automatically. Legit the only reason I’m considering not buying this

Our Profile Wireless includes "Safety Channel Mode" which outputs backup audio at a lower volume to help protect against clipping and "Backup Recording Mode" to automatically turn on internal recording if the wireless signal becomes weak.

and still the guy struggles to work on the menu, why cant we have a rocker/joystick style buttons. no 32 bit is also a bummer.
@DJMJM2 ай бұрын
To be honest, I do agree with you that mechanical buttons is the best thing to go for. But the downside will be that those mechanical buttons will wear down over the next 5-10 years, so those buttons can easily get stuck or no longer function anymore if that ever happens. As for 32 bit, unless you have really good sonic hearing, 24 bit and 32 bit recordings are no different from those who hear 320kbps MP3 or M4A files if you ask me.
@markelovpt2 ай бұрын
@@DJMJM same can happens to touch screen, but built in battery will die sooner anyway lol ... 32-bit is not for "sonic hearing" but managing clipping in fast paced environment. yes 24 bit is enough for 90% but rode pro saved my skin quite a few times. they could've made PRO version with 32 bit, timecode sync and no logos or branding on equipment and i happily would pay 50-70 more
@DJMJM2 ай бұрын
@@markelovpt Yeah, there's not really a good system to use in terms of longevity, which is why warranties should last at least 5 years so this way if the product breaks at some point in the future, it can be replaced or repaired. I see....Again, I don't use 32-Bit audio since I sure 24 bit, and often times I try to have the recordings at least below the -5/-10db line since those are the perfect audio qualities to go with. As for noises, in my honest opinion, -15db will get you pretty far in terms of audio and such. I don't know, in my opinion Sennheiser would have to do a software update with the device, much like how Magewell updated the HDMI 4k Plus USB capture device to allow 3840x2160p quality with 60fps compared to having it released as 30fps prior. For me it doesn't really matter since most of my audio recordings are done in 24-bit. No need for 32-bit in my opinion. I do think this is what Sennheiser went for and probably couldn't fit the 32-bit software or option into the menu since it's such a tiny touch screen. It's this reason why I go for separate audio recorders and not really for these ones if you ask me.

Do you know, that now editors have to erease logos from those mics? Only Hollyland is good - there are black stickers and logo is gone. The worst is Rode with reflections for stupid youtubers.
@DJMJM2 ай бұрын
Well yeah because the label is not only copyrighted, but trademarked as well. The best thing to do I would say is to use some sort of fine brush or spray paint the item with the wind screen on the logo in order to do so.....Most likely if you end up having that brand in your marketing, you're going to be paying from $50,000 to nearly $5,000,000+ every time you use the logo in your own company....Not cheap if you ask me....But seriously, this is the reason why I don't like copyright or the length of copyright in general.

@DJMJM2 ай бұрын
@@VictorMBG17 I have tried 32 bit recordings, and sadly, I cannot hear a difference between 32 bit and 24 bit. In my opinion, even when doing adobe audition recordings, you're basically taking up just as much storage in your hard drive or solid state drives with 32 bit as you would with 24 bit. Personally, 24 bit stuff for me is the way to go, and so long as you record it in FLAC or WAV, there really isn't much of a difference you can use until you upgrade to a much more professional audio recording like a separate bulky audio recorder, the olympus or sony portable handheld audio recorders, or a $1,000+ audio or video equipment that would suit your needs at best. That's like saying you want to record the hertz at 96,000 compared to recording hertz at 48,000....Really no difference if you ask me.
