Keyboards: Philippe Saisse is a French jazz musician, composer, record producer, and arranger. He studied at the Paris Conservatory he won a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music. He became the protégé of Gary Burton and debuted on Al Di Meola's Splendido Hotel. He also worked with Nile Rodgers and Felicia Collins in the album Outloud and wrote for David Sanborn. He has also worked in the alternative rock, jazz fusion and rock world for David Bowie, Chaka Khan, Al Jarreau, Gato Barbieri, Paul King, and The Rolling Stones. Bass: Armand Sabal-Lecco is a Cameroonian bass guitarist, composer and multi-instrumentalist best known for playing bass guitar on Paul Simon's "The Rhythm of the Saints" tour in 1989.[1] Sabal-Lecco has worked with Paul Simon, the Brecker Brothers, Herbie Hancock, Stanley Clarke, John Patitucci, Vanessa Williams, Manu Dibango, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Jonathan Butler, Sting and Ray Charles, among others. He is also known for composing, singing, arranging and producing.

Senri Kawaguchi Triangle is the band name. I believe it is Armand Sabal-Lecco on bass and Philippe Saisse on keys. I have to pick my jaw up off the floor every time I watch one of her vids. I'd say it's a safe bet that Senri is a Weather Report fan. I was curious about the song title since it is a Hopi word meaning "tall house". A quick check on The Google shows that Senri co-wrote it with Japanese composer and jazz-fusion keyboardist Jun Abe. As a background aside on the song title, Wupatki National Monument, which consists of the ruins of a large multi-story 100+ room stone pueblo, and about 40 ancillary structures, is an important archeological site in northern Arizona. It was constructed in a relatively short time span after the 1065 eruption of Sunset Crater covered the area in volcanic ash, which suddenly made dry farming in that area viable. Wupatki Pueblo was totally abandoned by 1225.

You should check out the tour Senri did with Guthrie Govan and Mohini Day. Also where she performs Spanish Pirates with Kyoji Yamototo. She really is exceptional.

The Senri Kawaguchi Triangle certainly makes more sense as a band name than the original name for The Jazz Avengers, who started as a one off group that she was asked to assemble. It was an eight piece band but named Senri’s Seven.

She's a great drummer, no one can argue about that. Playing this type of jazz though isn't the right thing for her to do IMO. This is the type of jazz that puts so many people off. They are all technically good musicians but the song is directionless, going nowhere. Just an exercise with each guy given a little spot .Hope she ventures into music with a bit of variation in it. A mix of slow, feel, subtle mixed with what she does already. I'm sure she can do it, even if it means someone else writing for her, or joining different types of bands. Well done Bart for getting her more attention but don't go to the same well too often or it will run dry.

It's Jazz-Fusion not Ornette Coleman Free-Jazz....Fusion has more structure and fun to play!
