This is an absolutely beautiful video :) The one thing I can never understand is why some people think Marianne "settled" with Brandon and isn't truly happy with him. I mean, just look at the wedding scene. Marianne is radiant with happiness.

Beautiful video! This is by far my favorite, movie and the moments from 3:56 - 3:58 are why I love Alan Rickman. He was able to convey a miriad of emotions in under two seconds that summed up the relationship between Brandon and Marianne to that point in the story. Just beautiful!

There were so many scenes where he showed up and she was like 'whatever'. I mean there was the knife scene, the 'i'm having a picnic' scene, she thinks he's Willoughby scene, the unwanted flowers... then as soooon as she asks if he can continue tomorrow he goes in for the kill. 'Nooo, for I must away...' 'Away? Where?!' Oh wouldn't you like to know Marianne! Then he writes that he 'expects her' to learn the new song! hah! He's got her now... Demie11, I hope you will see this comment even though you posted yours so long ago. From Jane Austen's point of view, the opposite was true. Darcy, Mr. Knightley, Col. Brandon--they are all the type of man Austen admired and never found in real life. Their (much) greater age than the beautiful and vivacious but immature heroines makes them look undesirable at first, especially since they are reserved and formal. It's a measure of how much Elizabeth, Emma and Marianne have grown up that, in the end, each comes to appreciate that her hero's understated exterior actually hides immense depth of feeling, unselfish devotion and unending kindness toward all around them. So, yes, Marianne's family and friends wish she would marry Col. Brandon, but that's because they realize what a wonderful person he is long before she does.

I see in all these videos positive comments about the relationship between colonel brandon and Marianne. But do you think that marianne was happy with this guy? She was pushed to marry him by her family, she had no choice, she was compromised. Her instict was defeated and manipulated. It's like she was hated by Jane Austin

That`s odd. Becose the song I used is most definitely taken from Sarahs album (I now this becouse I have the album myself). I listen to Elizabeth Frasers version and they are very similar but they are not the same. Sarah has a more clear voice then Elizabeth. Listen your self to the two versions, you can hear the differens both in the music and the vocals.
