Great review & spot on. Have a 14 year old goalie at hockey school. This was our best option for off ice, warmups and pregame prep. It’s really improved with new features and more variety in programs so the kid doesn’t get bored. Lots of drills, reflex work etc. I like that he can track his stats ( and for a laugh we watch how he is doing projected on the tv) Customer service is excellent and set up was easy. Love that we can pack it up and cart it on the road, holidays or to the lake! Just gotta keep the other kids off it. They like playing “beat-saver” instead😂.

Thanks for the video. I've heard that it can cause some goalies to be off in games after using it. I have two goalies - 12 and 9 - wondering if it would be a net benefit for them. Ice time is so expensive!

Sense arena would be awesome to have but at close to $600/year it's too much of a commitment for a casual goalie. Seems worth it if you're in a competitive league or chasing the NHL dream.

I really wish they would at least do a free demo or a lite version.

I like the idea of it, but they gotta do something about the price tag. I get you have to pay to develop the software and pay the coaches, but economically they need to ask themselves "is it better for us to get 1 person to pay $600/yr or 6 people to pay $100/yr". Yes they both equal $600, but if they want it to grow and keep their market share they have to cut the price otherwise the next company is going to come in and do it cheaper.

I agree. I think it’d be great if they even had a free trial or even a lite version for a reduced price

Can sense arena also be used for rightys?

Yup! You just change it in the settings. Actually pretty fun to change it up and play the opposite hand

Hey Bones just wondering if you ever get headaches, and if you do if you maybe try to prevent it by only using it so much.
@BonesyTV2 жыл бұрын
Nah no headaches yet. I’ve experienced it before in other VR games but never with sense arena. But then again I usually don’t spend more than 30-40 minutes in the headset at a time

How big of a space does it require?
@BonesyTV9 ай бұрын
A goal crease is 8’x6’ so ideally you’d want a space bigger than that to get the full benefit of standing on top of the crease

I get that this is a really niche product but $588 CAD annually is a bit much for a beer-leaguer like me.

Yeah the price is definitely a commitment

Yea, and then the subscription costs too. A one shot deal, I get. But a monthly payment too?

@@BonesyTV is the payment month-to-month or do you need to commit to an entire year?

Thanks for this review. I wish you would have spent more time on the limitations / "Cons" of the system. The video almost feels like a Sense Arena promotion rather than an unbiased review. It seems like this system only gives you a chance to work on hand /eye. You mention reads a lot but with no shots in the bottom half of the net, you are getting limited work on reads as well. In my experience more than 50% of shots are below knee level. I wonder if you find that this impacts your reaction to low shots if you are never seeing any low shots while using the system?
@BonesyTV Жыл бұрын
I was actually having a harder time with the lower/ mid level shots before using this. But now I can get a read on shots off the sick and better recognize if a shot is going high or low and I’m also able to work on the mechanics of snapping down on that low shot
