If There Is Light, It Will Find You Lyrics
How am I supposed to raise you when I’m so afraid of all that I can pass down? It won’t be just my name. I tried so hard to imagine a place with tears streaming down my face. A father meant nothing to me but I hope I mean something to you. Grab my hand, hold it tight, let the water take us tonight. How am I supposed to move on when I’m so afraid of the loneliness that I feel when the sun sets on your grave? I guess the best thing I can do with my time is love every minute of life. When the fact is I’d rather curl up and die, I can’t breathe if you’re not alive. How do I forget you? If there is light I hope it finds you. How can I forget you? If there is light I hope it finds you. My heart will break over spilling your blood. I’m lonely as death and I want to give up cause I can’t keep breathing this pain in my lungs. I’ll never forget our love. If there is light I hope it finds you. If there is love I hope it finds you. Let the good deep inside you. Let your love be the thing that defines you. We all lose someone who we would die for. How do we pick ourselves off the floor and face each day as if we’re not dying alone? We’ve got to love ourselves. That is how we respect our dead.

Just lost my wife to COVID…. This song hits me right in the gut. I made a promise to my wife before she left in the ambulance that no matter what happened I would take care of the kids and our home and our family. That’s a promise I cannot break. I’ll see you in the light when I’m done with my work babe. I love and miss you so much babe. You’ll always be my Sally. 😢💔🖤🤍💜

Sucks how this song isn't played every day, everywhere. Music like this can change people. Love, hope and loss. Not the horrible pop music that promotes sexual, money hungry and killing themes. Buddy please don't change. Everyone reading this: Don't change, world may be changing into something ugly but that doesn't mean you have to swept away by it. Be yourself, be YOU. HOPE EVERYONE FINDS THEIR LIGHT.

I cannot listen to this without crying. Can’t help but think about my son that was born with a very troubled heart. Only made it a couple hours after emergency c section. My love goes out to anyone and everyone that has lost someone they love more than life itself. It’s hard for me to go on with my life sometimes, and I have contemplated bad things. Just because it seems like the only way to escape, but my wife and step son keep me going. Without them, I don’t know how long I would last

So after hearing about Brand New and what came out about Jesse I remembered his song me vs maradona vs Elvis and honestly I wasn't shocked. I'm a woman and that was my favorite brand new song bc it gave me a sense of closure because I was the dumb girl he was singing about letting a douche treat me exactly like that over and over again. So after realizing I wasn't shocked about Jesse I remembered the lyrics I sang along listening to senses fail In concert and cd( and later iPod) and I wondered what's going on with buddy these days... So as much as you regret a lot of those lyrics Buddy it led me here, To more of your music that I needed to hear. I suffer from debilitating anxiety and "obsessive compulsive thoughts" about death of my loved ones and myself which is how my therapist puts it. I have never resonated so much and so literally to an album like I have this one. I'm a wife and mother now and Im in a constant state of panic waiting for one of the ones I love most to be taken from me. I want another baby but I can't think of that without thinking about possibly dying in childbirth or how having another child I love also means having someone new to worry about dying and how adding another loved one means increasing the odds of losing someone I need. I can't do anything without thinking of all the ways it could kill one of us. As a kid the only way I could fall asleep without crying about losing a family member was to imagine us all dying together at a family reunion where the building caught on fire and we were all trapped so none of us had to live without each other. I know I'm fucked up. As a wife and mom Im torn between wanting to die first and not wanting my kids to ever have to live without me. This album spoke to every part of me that lives in fear but doesn't want to. You'll never read this but I needed to say it anyways. I know it's hard to reconnect with fans especially when your views and outlooks have changed so much but I needed to say this connected way more deeply than your biggest hits and your biggest hits led me to it so don't regret them. We're more than who we were 13-14 years ago.
@infernalpleb4361
@infernalpleb4361 3 жыл бұрын
Your comment really resonated with me. I have a big family, and too constantly fret about them dying. 4 brothers and two parents and sometimes all I can think is how much higher the odds are that one of them will end up in some fatal accident or with a terminal illness and it gives me crippling anxiety too. I HATE getting unexpected calls from them because I fear the worst and I die some way every time I go through that dread of picking up the phone only to realise they want a favour or a catch up. I hate feeling so scared about it all. At least we're not alone.
@LivnDedGrl
@LivnDedGrl 3 жыл бұрын
@@infernalpleb4361 that's true, we aren't alone. Seems like they have to balance each other we could be alone and lose no one but have no one or we have those we love but at the risk of losing them. It's easy to think the other way of living is easier but we'd probably feel that way no matter what side we lived on. I will say that my original therapist moved and referred me to another and the change has been drastic. Have I stopped living in fear? No not at all but he informed me there isn't really a cure for anxiety you can only manage it and I have gotten better at it and I can stop the spiral with everything else except death. Everytime I remember my heart sinks. I feel the same everytime my family calls too or if my husband runs a little late I automatically think there's been a car accident. I've gotten so much better at dealing with it but some days it still gets the best of me. I so wish there was a cure. My husband lives such a carefree life bc he says worrying doesn't change a thing it won't stop anything from happening and the fact that people actually live without constant fear amazes me everyday bc I've never known a day without it and I can't imagine how freeing living like that is. If I had good advice is surely share it with you but the method that seems to help for the things that can be is grounding techniques. 5 senses helps method too as long as I'm home. I hope you and your family stay safe and I hope they now how lucky they are to have a sibling and child that loves them so deeply.

But this song captured me two years ago, after I had thought I reached my lowest point in my life I descended to hopelessness & never thought I would find the light or even a glimpse. Two years later Im still fighting & searching for the light. The raw emotion in this song speaks to a similar situation I had went thru. B/c it's not really that sad lol. What is that last set of characters also? A slash on two dots? Is that supposed to be a way to express in the form of an emoji? I guess it would work if you read right to left......

I have listened to Senses Fail since 2006. I stayed up all night listening to Still Seaching. That has and always will be my favoite album by SF. But this album. It's absolute gold. I never felt so emotionally drawn in with each song. I was sad when the album ended because I really wanted more. Good Job Buddy

i honestly didn't like this album at first, but when i kept listening to it, it's still Senses Fail. Heavy or soft, it doesn't matter, simply because they always put good melody and Buddy's lyrics are amazing. I do see Buddy as a hero. Because for me people like him are heroes.

I will fight till the end for defend this song as the most powerful and same time the most beatiful song in history of whole core, emo genre. But u know what?, fck genres. This song should be played across all world radio stations and everyone could hear it. My wish. And btw it's hard for me, but this is the first song I literally naturally cried to. Ammount of emotions, good emotions in it is insane. Thank You Senses Fail and Buddy Nielsen for this album and especially this song i feel it so much

I've never related to a band over my 10+ years of this too this band as much as I do with senses fail. Every album has been something I've related to on deep levels, from being away on deployments to growing up lonely. Just amazing

no song has ever made me want to get a tattoo of the lyrics except this one. perfect amount of blunt lines telling you a story and floaty fanciful lines that i can goddamn dream upon hearing. you dont have to relate to feel it

It's fucking amazing. I love how Spotify doesn't plague the system with stream counts directly available to anyone who wants to know. I say that because no matter if you believe it or not it indirectly effects your music choice, and I love this song
