dry clean/rocket blower/towel outside of camera, especially around the edge of the lens at the camera body before starting sensor cleaning....helps a little

You make this look so easy. I have had several people tell me it’s too easy to damage my camera and to have a camera shop clean it. I’m heading on vacation and have a nice pretty black spot on my pictures. I think I’m safe enough to try the dry method as I have a blower. Thank you for a great video and wish me luck.

If you follow the steps as shown in our video, it is absolutely safe to clean your sensor on your own. I am sure you will be able to get rid of this spot.

Vey nice video - Thanks , I used it and got excellent results - BTW one feedback (That i noticed on my camera) - apart from menu--> "Mirror lock up", i had to also dial the top left dial to "Mup" position. without doign it, my mirror wont stay up.

Great tutorial but sensors have still dust mainly on the sides and edges of the sensor! I used the brush but it leaves marks despite it is brand new! I also put 3 drops max and this leaves marks on the sensor, I redo it with less and marks disappeared

great and professional information sir. I got so I like to take it over by a window and let some of that sun light come in toward the sensor then I use the sensor cleaner if say its on the left ill move it toward the center the dust then I use the little air squeezer tool and sometimes those dust particles blow off the center after being moved from left to center my fear is pushing it too far over and it getting down behind the sensor

Actually dust on the focus screen you can worry about. Just use that little bulby blower on it and the mirror and you good to go :3

I've had my D850 for a week and I found a black spot top right corner. I thought it was the plane window at first ... damn it. I don't have the tools, I'll take it back to the shop to get some help. I hope whatever is on the sensor doesn't damage it.

Do you just wet one side of the swab and use the dry side for the second pass? Or do you wet both sides? Thanks.

I wet the tip of the swab. The second pass is not to dry the sensor. The fluid evaporates instantly after the swab has been removed.

Some people don't reverse the direction of the swab on the second pass. 3 or 4 drops? What sort of magic number is this? Final point, You Did Not Check your work. There is no magical # of passes to rely upon.

Is my sensor going to get dust if i never open my lens, ever?

By never removing the lens, you will minimize the risk of contamination. But at some point you may end up with spots on your sensor anyway. Also, you limit your photographic options. Sensor cleaning is easy, and if you are able to do it on your own, and have a choice of lenses, you will be able to take much better pictures.

hi, i have nikon d3300, it was fell frrom tripod in the dry area not inside water . problem is that it takes black image even in the normal light .. but all camera function is good, i can see previeous image and video. i can take photo and video too but it cames totally black. can you please some one help me, what should i do???
