This looks like a rebranded Meater sensor (who Thermomix have had a partnership with previously). As I already have an existing Meater block, can I pair this in lieu of the Thermomix branded sensor, or do I have to repurchase to be able to connect to my TM6 and the new app?

The new sensor is £129 full price (available from advisors). There is a special off for £89 if you arrange a demo with two friends through your advisor though 😊
