Is it possible to decrease or even cancel one's purgatory by renouncing all the merits one would've obtained through any good work or suffering accepted? So those merits themselves either pay for the debt you have or the renunciation of them pays what you have left? And one won't get rewarded in Heaven, but one can thereby better avoid purgatory?
