Fuck this safe. I can’t get it to fucking open due to how hard you have to pull up the tabs. My thumbs are bruised still trying to open this stupid case

I have one of these and I gave it to my mom to hold onto it for me and she’s been opening and closing it but it’s kind of hard to do sometimes and then it has a little safety mechanism that little gray or white strip that you have to push in pole at the same time. Well I don’t know what happened but she says that she can’t get into the safe now and we have the key and she just can’t open it and now I’m trying to figure out how to open this thing. I have a feeling that that little safety mechanism is broken. Anybody have any ideas what I should do? I think she’s been slamming it opening in closed and broke.
