He is saying the original is irrelevant but I differ because the witness is in court so his entries are important since the state is just extracting a small portion , its only fair to ask for the original to see the full context. This law is talking about things that are immaterial

1) It's worth remembering that the judge ruled that should the prosecution fail to provide the original, then all the record pertaining to the copy will be expunged. 2) It seems that a case can be made for the admissibility of the copy. It'll be interesting to listen to that and the counter-arguments. Could it be possibly be similar to the arguments for the admissibility of the OB register copies at police stations?

How can the copy be preserved and the original is misplaced. Ratha's court work on document that is not verified by defence lawyers. Ratha knew this kind of thing before it happened, he even approved it and said i will allow it as authentic documents. Look at both Baloyi and Sibanda faces they're not worried because they knew that lawyers are not going to succeed in this court.
