I really LOVED this couple. Here’s my interpretation of this couple. They really liked each other and the roadblock was their social status and goals for the future. Danah needs to take care of her business and he needs to graduate and follow his dreams. And while he was gonna move on, he couldn’t. As they aren’t awkward or anything in the end, it should mean that their feelings are mutual. Yet it need not imply that they’re in a relationship. They could be in an unlabelled situation where the feelings are clearly not platonic. They have high possibility of turning into an official relationship in the future, but right now they’re just living in the moment where their priority is probably achieving other life goals.

During Kang Tae Oh Vlive, he mentioned about this open ending and he liked it. He said it is up for us (viewers) to think about their ending. He told the scene at the gallery answer it all when Dan-ah ask YeongHwa to celebrate her REAL birthday so they might starting over. I really like this couple and its unfortunate they have an open ending. Hope JTBC consider for a season 2 and more DanHwa scenes.

Usually, I don't watch Shin Se Kyung's drama. For some reason, I find it hard to connect with her. BUT I felt this drama made me like her a bit as an actor. And, this is a slow burn one but it didn't stop me from completing the drama. I like the story and the characters.

@@akankshatayal1239 They broke up,because both need time to grow individually. Dan-ah, never intended it to be a permanent thing, she knows her relationship with Young-hwa will end. And the situation calls for it (her father being dead), now she needs to focus on climbing corporate the ladder. She in fact, broken up with him to be able to protect him from further heartache. On the other hand, Young-hwa is still a student and needs to graduate, became an artist and you know find stability in life. As for her illness, it seems that it was a genetically inherited heart condition. Dan-ah, also mentioned that her disease, "could hardly kill her". I read in some reviews (i forgot where and what disease is called) that its not the kind of disease that is very fatal and could kill her instantly. But people with this kind of heart disease should refrain from extreme physical and mental activities which could cause stress, avoid alcohol and lack of sleep. Which is basically, Dan-ah's lifestyle, so every now and then she experience symptoms.

Maybe because you never really focused on the main couple. The main couple in this drama actually have the most realistic approach on relationships that's why I really liked this series. Most series that I adore most are those who portray what and how relationships really are. Don't get me wrong, as a Kpop fan, Sooyoung is my 2nd bias in GG and I love her actress side. Many people liked this couple because it is your common kdrama couple where one is rich and the other one is a struggling middle class, which is what I have noticed in some kdramas like The Beauty Inside where many people loved the second couple too. The hopeless romantic inside of us shows itself whenever we see a fairy tale love storyline. Anyways, I also started watching The Beauty Inside and Run On because of the yt vids of the second couple but I ended up loving the main couple even more.

Run On was such a light and heartwarming drama and these two made it more special. Their story was special even if it wasn't told in every detail. For me, their story ended well, it wasn't rushed at all. They don't need a clear 'i love you' or 'let's be together' to show how they ended. From the start they weren't that sweet and lovely couple instead they were always casual in terms of expressing their feelings. That scene in the gallery, it was actually a perfect comeback scene for the two. To some it might feel blurry but to those who understood this couple deeply, it was a scene that showed the uniqueness of their relationship and how their love was completed 💖

spoiler warning! To everyone confuse at the ending, it's an open ending so it's up to you on how you wanted danhwa to end. (as the script didn't completely showed us what they could have been) though at the end we get to see every character to get their happy endings. (dana gets what she wants and finally accepting his brother). I think that's what brought the different emotional turmoil the last ep gave us. It's a ride of emotion and that's what made me love this ship.

Dan Ah was an unforgettable character for me. She felt so real and relatable. Her trait of wearing sneakers so that she could be prepared at any time. Her obsession with time and efficiency that would make her angry if she felt like someone was wasting her time. Her life that was driven by her race against and fear of time to make something of herself. Her way of showing love was to "give up" her precious time. So good. Also, she was just fun to watch. Her raw honesty was so refreshing and her beating up her "older" brother was just the cherry on top.

This was the best portrayal of a dreamy first love, it was unexpected and out of the blue, however it was the best of what it could be, both of different dynamics and different backgrounds, one with a puppy personality another with a tigress aura, it was as if they are so imperfectly perfect for each other, the holes that Dan ah had blocked were now being investigated and looked into by him, he saw in her something that everything and everyone else failed to see, a human being, she had built walls out of which he a built a home, though the ending is an open one, we can all come to a conclusion that, happy endings don't necessarily mean two people ending up together, it simply means an ending where we're all happy, they are both happy, and say it did not happen this time, it was very sure of in that last scene that they'd end up together somewhere far off, when yeonghwa had graduated, gone away, secured a job, became a known artists and Dan ah had conquered the business world, and just the way the pen met that paint brush, unexpectedly, fate would bring them together too, because falling in love is never too late.

It’s so impressive when Young Hwa brings the painting to Dan Ah’s office as farewell, Dan Ah’s armour finally all shattered and she shows her true, vulnerable self to him, no longer dominant over him. It’s heartbreaking when Young Hwa lets go of his “first love” and Dan Ah breaks into tears and sobs. Sooyoung and Tae Oh act so well in this scene.

Honestly speaking, I've watched the drama a couple of times already and their characters made me interested about the show. I'm really not into the main lead but for Seo Dan-Ah and Yeong Hwa's story. I just hope there'll be a sequence where the main focus is Seo Dan-Ah and Yeong Hwa besides, the chemistry of actors - Sooyoung and Kang Tae Oh is really good. I know many people had mixed feelings about this drama but as for me, I loved it. I felt the story line was more realistic than others especially the love between the main leads and this couple. Everything felt so natural and it was super realistic. The ending too was an amazing open but very clear ending as well. This couple was one of my favorites because of how much they loved/liked each other. This drama was also something that focuses on self love/self improvement which isn't something you see in a lot of k-dramas. All characters had their own story and were able to rely on themselves too. Really loved this drama!!!!!!!!!

I’m in the same boat as you 😩 Interesting enough I started the show because of the main lead guy (Siwan). I’ve seen him in another drama and was super impressed with his raw emotions and superb acting prowess! But I ended up staying with this series because of Sooyoung and then the arch of this couple just kept pulling me in! Their character development, chemistry, and acting was just off the charts! In my honest opinion they did the heavy lifting with this drama!

@@SamSum2023 it’s hard to say what their ending is, like they don’t really get together but they’re still close with each other, their ending was a bit unclear but tbh their storyline was so good that I didn’t really mind the ending, it’s upto you though if you want to watch it
