I don't know if this is Korean, Japanese, Chinese, or something else, but my local Asian market has this seaweed soup where they leave the seaweed in (compared to this video where you take the seaweed out after soaking it in the water). They also include mussels in it, but that's it as far as I know. I know I'm not giving much information to go on, but do you happen to have an idea of what soup I'm referring to?

Sounds like miyeok-guk, Korean, seaweed soup. It's made with a different kind of seaweed, I think. Kombu is mostly only used for broth and then taken out.
