This song was playing when me and my wife were eating together in a restaurant. The first days that felt like Sommer. We were sitting at the rooftop waiting for our food and she looked amazing. The song complimented her looks and the vibe itself. I’ll never forget that smile of her while hearing this song. I love her so much ❤

For ppl wondering what happened, they "broke up" Life changes, priorities change, people grow apart, grow closer, and new opportunities arise. i lived in montreal when the stay with us video was released onwards and knew a couple of the members/touring drummers (appeared in a film one member ended up making later on, good times haha). the album seemed like a culmination of years of work - some of the songs were brought over from their previous band, the roll out of the singles was pretty slow and they played live a lot before the album was announced/released - so although it was surprising when things slowed down, it kind of made sense. from the outside looking in it does seem like this band dropped off the face of the planet but at the time it felt to me like a natural progression for a group of friends who had been playing music together from a young age. The album has come to symbolize a very specific time in my life and the time period in which it came out. this, coupled with the general theme of the songs, has retroactively cemented it as a wonderful little ode - a swan song of sorts - to memories, intimacy, loneliness, and impermanence in modern life. multitudes of individual souls trying to reach out to each other, fighting isolation and a ticking clock. encompassed by a metropolis whose swirling lights seem to always be lit and never changing, while the souls the lights shine upon slowly but inevitably change with the relentless march of time.

I run and hit the floor, Only for the last time, All night, and. And you don't yet deserve, anything That you want, You are, ooh. To you. I know. I just want to be fair When opening up to you. To you. It's an effort to care And apathy's weird to you. I run and hit the floor, Only for the last time, All night and. And you don't yet deserve, anything That you want, You are, ooh. I wait. Standing in the hallway. Taking off my coat so slow. Cause you wouldn't want me there. And as the, living room gets darker. All that you would offer me, Is fears of the difficulty. I run and hit the floor, Only for the last time All night and I knew I would deserve, better than what you are. You are, ooh. To you. I know. I just want to be fair When opening up to you. To you. It's an effort to care And apathy's weird to you. I know. I just want to be fair When opening up to you. To you. It's an effort to care And apathy's weird to you.

90’s chill vibes through and through. I would have been at the pool in the summer 6/7 years old with this playing on the speakers, getting ice cream sandwiches at the snack bar, blissfully unaware of the complexities to come in 2020s society. I’m only 30 and am already able to go “kids these days” don’t understand that there’s more to life than worrying about all the things society has tried to tell you matters. Just breathe, shut the tech off, and enjoy the world around you. I’m blessed to have been born in the 90s to have this perspective.
