If only the RV manufacturers would take a clue from the European RV’s it would be heaven. I would even consider buying over there and having it shipped to the states. Why can’t the manufacturers build quality and purposeful RV’s like the foreign markets do? They have it all in a small space.

The ability to run the AC off of the lithium batteries for a few hours is a nice feature for people that travel with pets and want to stop at an attraction and have their pet comfortable. It's more convenient than running a gas generator because you can just stop and get out without having to make the decision as to if you want to start up the generator.
@leighannebrain6607 күн бұрын
How much is it cost?
@garychristison7637 күн бұрын
@@leighannebrain660 A lot more than a portable gasoline generator. A lithium system capable of running an AC unit all night can easily add $10K to a build. I went with a basic solar/AGM battery system that will run everything except the AC. I get it though and see the appeal of having the large battery capacity.

Great video as always. I like both the split gallery and the dry bathroom. The flooring was a nice touch too. Good job Chinook

I think I prefer the wet bath and clothing storage in bathroom area. And a kitchen with built in burners.

The messy application of sealant around the rooftop accessories spoils it for me. A sign of shoddy workmanship. I do like the innovative bathroom setup.
@vrp-geo022417 күн бұрын
I also look for that and thought it was sloppy. And the solar panels mounted unnecessarily high. The other questionable design is the location of the black and grey water dump & valves right behind the drivers side rear dual all terrain tires with no mud guard!!
@tonyp134017 күн бұрын
@@vrp-geo0224 Actually the solar off the roof a bit is quite good, in my opinion. Gives one a chance to clean the moss, mould and gunge that builds up under there. But once I saw the careless application of sealant on the roof, it put questions in my mind about what other hidden careless stuff might be behind the panels.

Dry bath AWESOME No propane AWESOME The only improvements I would suggest are that there was actually room to make the shower 4”-5” bigger, which would’ve been a really, really valuable improvement. I know the model in the video was the Adventurer so I’d personally opt for the standard one without the ladder (which I don’t care for being permanently installed on the outside - maybe it could be made to be easily removable? ) or roof rack. Then again, I’m sure others would appreciate the ladder and roof rack. Overall, however, for me the two features I mentioned at the beginning make this Class B an absolute WINNER. I hope Chinook sells a lot of them and that other Class B manufacturers begin including the same features.

I'm liking this model a bit more than the Coachmen Beyond. I like that it has HID headlights and the rear dry bath is awesome. I'd be even better with a larger lithium package like Coachmen offers. Also, I'm not a fan of the roof rack design. It looks goofy with the solar panels sitting way above it, which will cause wind noise and drag. They should have been mounted lower behind the the front wind deflector shield for less noise and better aerodynamics. The ladder is also unnecessary since there's no reason to access the roof, other than occasionally to clean the solar panels and inspect the equipment, and you can easily use one of those portable collapsible ladders for that. I'd skip the rack and ladder altogether, but it's pretty solid otherwise.

pretty nice, no kitchen that's crazy. Cook outside when it's cold or rainy? Try that a few times then you'll be happy to have a indoor kitchen. I still prefer my Winnebago Travato K floor plan and I also prefer a wet bathroom. I can take a shower standing up the commode is not in the way, and it makes it very easy to clean the commode when it's a wet bath, not separate like that one.
@oregonstrong108016 күн бұрын
The only thing missing in the kitchen is a stove top. As a class B Van owner I would prefer if there was no stove taking up valuable counter space. In such a small area you need SPACE, you need all the counter space possible. When you travel things are not as they are in a stick/brick. You eat diff. Bath diff etc. Just add a portable stove top and place in cupboard. Bring out portable stove only when you need it.
@patd4u216 күн бұрын
@ tell me about it, every time I go out for a week or two I can never find anything, in such a small area It's amazing how items get lost in there. But the Travato K does have adequate counter space with the sink lid down and the cutting board pulled out. I just can't justify a portable stove for a class B that cost over $100,000 probably,I would want something more permanent.

It looks like not there, but it’s there. Vast majority you’ll probably be cooking outside and only use van for clean up. It has the pop up counter, and comes with a single burner induction cook top. This kitchen doing you mise en place for cooking would be the key; prep all, keep in frig until cooking, then use microwave as a warming box if need be. Camping I rarely use multiple burners, usually make one pan/pot wonders, or use camp fire as warmer or side dish cooking. I.d rather the bigger frig like this, and that bathroom; looks like you can pass through bikes inside while driving.

Ummmm…. Where’s the stove????Although it cost more, my Grech Terreno Ion 4 x 4 is really the way to go if you can afford it. 1260 amp hours of lithium and an upgraded low energy consumption AC unit by Gree is perfect. No need for a generator and no need for propane. Full bathroom and full kitchen with a 2 burner induction, microwave oven that is also a convection oven and is also an air fryer.😊

the kitchen area sucks. the flip up extension should be even with the countertop. There needs to BE more tountertop. Sure, you can use a small induction cooktop, but it looks like you'd be living off of whatever you can cook in the micorwave/convection oven. however, if you're short, you'd have a hard time getting stuff in and out of it. Did they actually try cooking in this thing, before rolling it out to production? Did a woman approve this kitchen? it's so disappointing
