Michael said the purpose was since Michael couldn't play basketball that Michael Jordan would teach him and since Michael Jordan couldn't dance Michael would teach him as well haha so cute 😊 also Michael said this was the most fun he had while shooting a music video for that album! You can really see it ❤

“Jam” says alot about how thought provoking and genius MJ truly is listen to the lyrics they’re so deep yet so real it’s such a polarizing song, has an important message and yet the tempo of the song is so funky and heart pumping but once again MJ putting his foot down against Systematic Racism & World Turbulence see and this is why he’s so loved and cherished around the entire universe LONG LIVE THE GREATEST MUSIC ARTIST TO EVER LIVE THE KING OF MUSIC FOREVER! And nobody was bigger than Michael Jackson was/is even Michael Jordan said it sure Jordan was popular but MICHAEL JACKSON IS FREAKING ROYALTY! He was another stratosphere of superstardom from childhood to adulthood with that being said MJ is a better basketball player than Jordan is at dancing LMAO!👊🏽👑🔥✨(Jam ~ On the album opener,MJ explains that jamming (the joy of music and dance) is his preferred method of temporarily escaping worldly issues. “You can’t hurt me; I found peace within myself,” Jackson proclaims. “Go with it, go with it / Jam!” Riley pilots this sense of freedom with an adrenaline-pumping rhythm consisting of electronic drum snares, turntable scratches, and hot horn stabs. The iconic short film co-stars NBA legend Michael Jordan, rap duo Kris Kross, and the late-great Heavy D. Over a slinky funk/rock beat, the Music Video for "Jam" takes place within an abandoned indoor basketball court, where Michael Jackson teaches basketball legend Michael Jordan how to dance, and in return, Jordan teaches Jackson how to play basketball. Special effects have Jackson throwing a basketball through a window and scoring in the hoop in the opposite room, as well as Jackson scoring by tossing the ball behind him and kicking the ball into the hoop with his heel. The extended versions of the video include Jackson teaching Jordan how to do the physically complicated "Moonwalk" dance technique (known as the slide step) The rap groups Kris Kross and Naughty by Nature made a cameo appearance,as does Heavy D (who performs a rap during the bridge). The Music Video was directed by David Kellogg and was filmed on April 20, 1992 in Chicago, Illinois. The Music Video premiered on FOX on June 19, 1992 at 9:30 p.m. EST.)

This song and video is highly underated but not at the time of its release. The video is loaded with talent; not just Michael Jackson and Michael Jordan, but featuring the late Heavy D who did the short but amazing Rap in the video with another legend duo of Kris Kross. Heavy D had an amazing career with many hits songs. Kris Kross had the hit song Jump. So it's quite the rabbit whole to go down. I was fortunate to live in the era when all this amazing music was released and still enjoy all of it!

7:10 Michael Jackson actually composed much of Sonic The Hedgehog 3 soundtrack, which is likely where this comes from. He ultimately ended up going uncredited as he was unhappy with the resulting soundtrack. Most of the time he sampled his own songs for some of the Sonic tracks but there's one song that he actually used the melody from a Sonic track he made for a single in the next album.

@@SephPlays His exact involvement is a bit unclear. Brad Buxer knows best. But also, going right back to Sonic's creation, his design was slightly influenced by Jackson too "Michael Jackson's influence can still be found in just about every Sonic game. When Sonic the Hedgehog was in development during the early 90s, Sega already had a relationship with the singer, having developed and published the Mega Drive and Arcade versions of his 1990 beat-em' up video game, Moonwalker. In a 2009 interview, Naoto Ohshima was asked why Sonic's shoes have their Santa Claus coloring. Ohshima replied. "His shoes were inspired by the cover to Michael Jackson's Bad, which contrasted heavily between white and red -- that Santa Claus-type color. I also thought that red went well for a character who can run really fast, when his legs are spinning.""

From the first time I’d listened to this song, I’ve always felt a modern religious vibe as if I was entering some sort of temple or something, especially the moment I’d heard the lyrics “I just want you to recognize me in (or “I’m”?) the temple”. The tune has such a weird but an angelic feel to it when coupled with Michael’s signature backups and ad-libs. It’s just deep!

Ok i finally have time to write my comment haha, welcome to the Dangerous Album Seph!🔥 This album is sometimes underrated but its actually one of his best works! You will love it as much as Off The Wall, Thriller and Bad i promise! And the Dangerous Era is probably my favourite era of Michael along with the Bad Era!🔥 Now i will tell you some facts about the album and the song "Jam". Edit: i've just finished to write it, i know its a bit long but please read it all haha, i even got a little tired writing it haha. Dangerous Album: 1) Dangerous is the eighth studio album of Michael Jackson, it was released by Epic Records on November 26, 1991 (edit: Ohhh My God i just realized today is November 26 lool, today is the 32nd anniversary of the album!), more than four years after his previous album "Bad" in 1987. It's one of the best-selling albums of all time, having sold over 32 million copies worldwide, and was certified 8× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in August 2018. It won a lot of awards including Grammy Awards, American Music Awards and Soul Train Awards. 2) After the success of his seventh studio album "Bad", Michael wanted more independence and control over the creative process. For this reason, he separeted himself from longtime producer Quincy Jones to avoid the perception that his success depended on him. As you now, Quincy was the producer of all his previous solo albums (Off The Wall, Thriller and Bad) but from this album onwards, he will no longer be. With this action, Michael proved that his success did not depend on Quincy given the success of Dangerous. It was in fact co-produced by Michael himself, Bill Bottrell, Teddy Riley and Bruce Swedien. 3) The album ranges across various musical genres, including pop, R&B, rock and new jack swing. Elements of industrial, funk, hip hop, electronic, gospel, classical and rock are also present. It was truly 90s style since with this album we entered the 90s. 4) Michael initiated the creation of fresh tracks in 1989, collaborating with a select group, including Matt Forger and Bill Bottrell, who were part of the B-team from the Bad Album project. The initial concept for the album mirrored a greatest-hits compilation titled Decade, incorporating a few novel tracks, reminiscent of Madonna's The Immaculate Collection. Michael approved this idea in the early months of 1989, leading to the production of test pressings by Epic Records, resulting in an $18 million advance for him. Initially slated for a late 1989 release, Decade faced multiple delays. Despite setting a new release date for November 1990, the project failed to materialize. Michael grappled with ongoing changes in his management team, all while pursuing his aspirations in filmmaking. In June 1990, he experienced a collapse during a dance session in his home studio, potentially triggered by a panic attack, showcasing symptoms like chest pains, dehydration, and rib inflammation. Following these events, Decade was shelved entirely, leading Michael to realize that his collection of new material had evolved into a complete album, which he ultimately named Dangerous. So the recording sessions ran from June 1989 to October 1991 and Michael recorded roughly 60 to 70 songs, some of which were released later especially in his next album "HIStory". 5) The album's front cover was painted by American pop surrealist artist Mark Ryden. It displays Michael behind a gold masquerade mask with the face of a chimpanzee (which may be Michael's pet Bubbles) atop the mask, and a dog and a bird wearing royal clothing sitting on the left and right side, respectively. Ryden had five days to come up with ideas, and he diligently worked throughout the week, crafting a design each day. His task was clear: concentrate on Michael's eyes, incorporate elements of animals and children, and vividly depict the Earth in jeopardy. Additionally, he was advised that his creations could evoke an element of fear but should maintain an underlying sense of enjoyment. Reflecting on the assignment, Ryden expressed that the cover project for Michael was the most thrilling endeavor he had undertaken thus far. According to Fraser McAlpine of BBC Music, Ryden depicted Michael as "a guarded circus artist who has seen glory and the machinery involved in making it happen". 6) The promotion was similar to the way in which record label executives had approached Bad, expectations were set at a high bar for Dangerous. In September 1991, Michael netted a deal to have his videos air on FOX alongside regular music-video channels MTV, BET and VH1. 7) There are 13 songs on the album and 9 of them have a short film. Jam - The Song: 1) Jam was released as the fourth single of the Dangerous Album on July 13, 1992. 2) The song features a collaboration with rapper Heavy D, who provides a rap in the middle of the track. 3) It was written and produced by Michael, René Moore and Bruce Swedien, Jam is a fusion of various musical genres, including pop, R&B and new jack swing. 4) The lyrics of the song address themes of unity, challenging racial and social barriers through music and dance. The song encourages overcoming differences and "jamming together." Jam - The Short Film: 1) The short film of the song was filmed on April 20, 1992 in Chicago, Illinois and was directed by American director David Kellogg. 2) The video also features the participation of former basketball player Michael Jordan (yeah it was him lol). The video's plot includes a basketball game between Michael and Jordan, emphasizing the theme of unity through sports and music (MJ Vs MJ lol). Same thing with Michael (Jackson) teaching Michael (Jordan) his moves haha. 3) The video is known for its dynamic and engaging choreography, distinctive features of Michael's performances. 4) The video includes innovative special effects for its time, contributing to its visually captivating nature. 5) Jam and its short film achieved commercial success and continue to be remembered as integral parts of Michael's career. Ok the comment is finally over Seph, i think this is my longest comment ever haha, I hope you read it all and found it helpful (i hope it's a nice welcome to the Dangerous Album and the Dangerous Era haha). Thank you Seph, love your videos🔥

Yes Michael and one of his frequently used Sound Engineers Brad Buxer worked on the Sonic Music. It was a conspiracy theory for a long time but its been confirmed by many involved but still denied by others. Not "Officially" confirmed. There are two different explaining why Michael didn't get credit. One says that Sega backed out of connections with Michael when certain allegations came out. The other says Michael did not like how the sound was turning out and the limits of Sega sound capabilities.

Welcome to Dangerous album🥰🥰 Wonderful, fantastic, amazing reaction, Seph😂😂 Actually, I'm not sure if you will follow the list or not 🤔. But any way , let's tell u some facts.. 1) The overall atmosphere throughout the album's preparation: Michael published his previous album, Bad, in 1887. After that, he went on tour and released this one in 1991. Therefore, the audience's taste must have changed over those four years. Other notable musicians include Madonna, Prince, and even his sister Janet, who produced a fantastic albums. There were also a new musical genres (rap was popular at the time and was well-liked by the public), and he was aware of all of that. So he made everything new on this album because he wanted to maintain his current level of success and uphold the standards set by the music industry, as he had done with his previous two albums. For this reason, he broke up with Quincy Johns. 2) The beat of this song may seem "ok" or "normal" to you now, but it was unique and unheard of back then. The sound of glass breaking and fingers snapping were all first utilized. It wasn't that easy , so Michael would actually send his team to the *garage* to record noises from cars, metal, glass, etc😂. 3) I watched a portion of Michael's mixing session; there were a ton of tracks for this song-really, a ton of tracks-and for each song on the album. Michael actually prepared 50 songs for the album, selecting the ones he felt were the best-so you can imagine the level of perfection 🔥. 4) This was the album's fourth single and the song was rated 26 on Billboard💪 5) Yes, the brief film's concept was to have Michael Jordan and Michael Jackson teach each other basketball and dancing, respectively. Furthermore, the movie's director claimed that he gave neither of them much directions. he left Michael Jordan with the basketball and Michael with the music, and magic was created. 6)The team had to construct a tunnel for Michael to go to the shooting home without being noticed by the public and press. 7) In an extra effort to keep Michael looking fresh and draw in new listeners, the song featured a mix of street dancing styles and a Heavy D rap. 8) in this album each song has a story, so you really need to pay attention to the lyrics, seph which I know you already do🌹.but i have to mention as There there are no ok songs, all of them are fire. Although I'm glad you thought of the song's idea, I have to admit that I consider myself fortunate to live in a community where kindness, warmth, and love still abound. Even after visiting all the historical sites and experiencing all the magic, when tourists are asked what they like best about Egypt, they respond, "The people." And tbh that surprised me because i had no idea how unique we are until i observed how most people behave toward one another throughout the majority of the world. People really became cold toward eachother, so yeah, religion is important now of course 🌹🌹🌹 I apologize for being so long, but even I got tired writing this 😂😂😂. I hope you enjoy it.

This was a fantastic read my friend! When i replayed this just now i can definitely hear future groups who took heavy inspiration from this. Linkin Park for one "Their songs have a similar structure" What you said about where you live has actually made me happy too! It's nice to hear that not all the world is not completely hostile! I'm really excited to hear more from this now "Majorly because of you and Alex hyping this era up" haha So thank you Esraa ❤️
