What made gintama’s ending so good is that throughout the series, Gintoki was always the person who makes other people’s wish come true. He was always the one whose going to protect everyone. He never made any request or wish for himself, it was always about him helping others. But then in the end, everyone, all the characthers that he’d helped, all the connections that he made, all the threads that’s connected in his soul; showed up to help him and make his wish come true. That is the true essense of Gintama and all the themes are presented by that one small scene when everybody met up in front of the yorozuya house. That is what the silver soul that was passed and connected to everyone is all about.

One of the reasons why I immediately recommend Gintama to anyone who ask me for recommendations (aside from it being my most favorite anime in my entire existence on this very earth) is because it's a series that may give you tons of questions in the beginning...... But when you reach the "end", the only question you will ever have is "Is there more?"

I agree that it's great and probably one of the best, but I also think it's wild that a shounen purposely aiming for popularity and going for tropes across the board is the most human piece of art you've ever seen. I can understand it half and half but there are lots of great human piece of arts just in anime and even more so out of it. Keep exploring to find all the great gems in every art :)

I lost my grandma 8 years ago, suddenly to cancer. And while I was watching Gintama prior to this, after my grandma's death this series really sunk heavily into my heart, because every one of Gintoki's lessons gradually helped me pull through. I never thought I'd lose her so soon, my grandma was relatively young, only in her early 50's when she passed, so being young and naive I thought I had all the time in the world with her, especially because at the time I had a horrible connection with my mom, so my grandma and I were very close. I remember after my grandma passed one of her close friends told me I was the apple of my grandma's eye and that I resembled her so much, and the more I watched Gintama the more I strive to be like my grandma who was selfless and helpful to everyone. I trip and mess up a lot, but I truly try my hardest to be a good person. The finale where Gintoki shows Shoyo everything he has done for himself was the most I have openly sobbed my heart out in public ((I watched in theaters)) a s I cried for a good 40+ minutes from the scene with takasugi through to Shoyo's ending, and by Shoyos end and Gintokis last words to him I was full on sobbing with images of my grandma in my mind, because who is the world wouldn't give everything just to have that small moments with someone they loved so much? I'm sorry to hear about your grandpa, but glad to hear about how Gintoki has helped you process things, it definetly makes me feel less alone about it. Gintoki will always be my favorite character in anime, and someone I will argue about being one of the best written, and Gintama will always be my favorite series because they have such a personal connection to my heart. Thanks for the great video.

This is the best analysis video I’ve ever watched. I’ve been checking your page every single day since your first post about this analysis, waiting. And it finally came, and it was amazing. As someone who’s father killed himself when I was young, I grew up with just me, my sister and my mom. And his character resonates so much with me because it’s that action of making bonds with other to cope and deal with tragedy in a healthy way. This is why this is the only piece of fiction to make me cry. Because it’s not a show, it’s a life lesson with penis jokes. Thank you again for making this video! Edit: sorry this was so long, I just wanted to get this off my chest, as all my friends refuse to watch this show for some reason, no matter how much I try. Sorry again, everyone have a great day!

U really justified why Gintoki stays top of my all time favourite anime characters list❤. I am left with tears as this made me once again understand how well Gintoki was perfectly designed. I also remember Gintama never showing Gintoki revealing his sad past by himself(old yoruzuya epi was kind of cherishing his memories). It was always through others view, we came to know abt his story. This also proves how truly Gintoki meant about living in the present. Sorachi Sensei undoubtedly crafted a masterpiece of its own kind ❤. Not to forget Sugita who made Gintoki way too incredible! I would never forget those high pitch screams of him particularly 😂😂... Huge respect for this video!

First of, gintama's coming back with a ginpachi-sensei spin-off, life gained sense again. And second of all, this is the best gintoki analysis i witnessed. Dealing with way too many things to list off, i've continuouly been in a completely dark, lonely and empty spot for years. But these kind of animea and videos really reminds me of the place i'm in (in a good way). That i can always better myself to help others or myself. As alone as i may feel even though i'm with my friends or family, i am not alone and i'll never be, this is all a state of mind attacking me due to the lack and diffuclties i have to express myself. But i'll never be alone, there will always be someone like me or at least that resembles me and there will always be someone that managed to get through their dark times, even though their dark times were darker then mine. I'll never be alone and even if i were a numb human being, than i have all the space to fill myself with new encounters. I'll always be in pain, but i can at least manage to survive to enjoy and help not just others but also me. And maybe one day i'll feel good about myself. So thank you, have a good day
