Hydrocortisone tends to be fast acting and septic shock being an emergency one would prefer using to assist with blocking the inflamatory process taking place in the peripheral system.

what of the comparatively what are the glucocorticoid and minerolocorticoid effect differences between dexa and hydrocort?

@@DrMK7 i stand to be corrected but hydrocortisone has more of glucorcoticoid effects while dexa has mineralcorticoid effects, hence in septic shock the glucose levels are relatively depleted and so hydrocortisone will help, furthermore seeing it has no mineralcorticoid effect means there will be no significant fluid retention which reduces chances of intracranial fluid build up too.
