Every saturday, I use the Philadelphiatransitvehicles.info website and it has a bus tracker selection. There you can see every single septa bus that's in service at the time. You can select different models and if you want D40LF then you can click it and it will show all the D40LFs running in service in real time. Once I do that, I look for 8000s that I like or that are on routes that are either close to me or routes that I like. Then I see what time it gets to the stop I want to get on at using the block selection and septa's next to arrive app. Then I literally go for it. I've been hunting D40LFs since January 2022 but I just recently started recording the rides so unfortunately I haven't got many rides recorded but I do have a few audio clips to upload soon.
