I love how precise you are. I have this part done and I really hope that when you close out September you will do the same thing. The tracking and closing out is the part that is still hanging me up a bit. I have the concept I'm just not always sure how I should count certain items such as money from my savings and whether or not they are added on to the checking account page or the cash page? Is the cash tracking page only for my cash envelopes and how do I add that in when I reconcile? Thank you Miko...I am so happy you and Ryan are getting away before the big RELEASE of your new BBP Workbooks mid Oct. I would also enjoy hearing some about Chris... he is a name on your Income but we hear very little about him. Thanks so much for all you do. You are a lifesaver.

If you have a child going to school and receiving free lunch, you can get Comcast internet for $10. I used to pay $55 for internet. And for insurance I switched to liability since my car is getting super old now and that cut that bill in half.

I really like the cash envelope method (and the combination you use). But I use a military members only bank and there are no branches in my area. The bank is primarily online. I can withdraw from any ATM, but my problem is I can only take out in increments of 20, or if I'm lucky and find an ATM that gives out other bills.

I am addicted to watching your videos:) But I am confused about how one would function without a credit card for logistical reasons. I just returned from a trip and the plane trip and rental car that were used were booked - and as far as I could see could only BE booked - using a credit card. How would have a cash spender have done that?
@Beezer.D.B.5 жыл бұрын
I'm curious about this too. I'm guessing that she's covered this before, but as I'm new to her channel, I've no clue. Most of my bills are auto-paid, and to lower my burgeoning credit card debt, I've switched as many of them over to being auto-debited from my checking account...but very few of them can be done this way. Most require a credit card. I'm still excited about the concept here, but not sure how I can utilize it myself. So, how do I pay my bills in cash? By mail? Cash through the mail is risky, to say the least. So many questions, so little cash, lol!
@sarasmires5 жыл бұрын
You can use your debit card to do all that, so it doesn't have to go on a credit card. It's a little harder to use a debit card for car rental but you just have to call and find out what they need from you before you go.
@ginaspence45085 жыл бұрын
Although I have an asked her that question myself I would think you could use your debit card with a Visa logo that’s what I do
@courtneygoddard39604 жыл бұрын
If you have a debit Visa most places take that. Or if you need to use a credit card you can go ahead and use it BUT have that money put aside and pay the bill right when you get it. That way you’re not relying on debt, you still had the cash to pay that bill.

$1,000 in your emergency fund while you’re in debt ($500 if you make less than $20k a year). Once you’re debt free then 3-6 months worth of living expenses should be in your emergency fund. ☺️

Hey Kimoko! I just found your channel like three days ago because my family and I NEED to really stick to a budget. It resonated so much with me when you said it was when you realized that budgeting was a challenge because most systems were not setup according to paycheck times. So yes! Thank you. I have watched a lot of your content and feel very motivated and empowered that I can do this! Also, questions: when setting up sinking funds, will some of those not be able to be met? Like what if there isn't money in the budget to put towards the sinking funds? Another, my spouse gets paid weekly, so would I then do another budget for that paycheck separately? TIA :)

Do you have suggestions on how to start sinking funds when you don’t have the funds or time to save for them but you have to pay them in that month. I seem to set the budget at the start of the month but by mid month it’s blown out of proportion by unexpected things for example I had a medical procedure, then I had to get glasses, car servicing, baby items we have a new baby. Just feels hard to catch up. Should I just start small and eventually will get there ?

@michelle-howdoyou5 жыл бұрын
Stephanie Fortin I’ve always wondered if you break down a Target or Walmart receipt item by item???😬
@stephaniejane3065 жыл бұрын
I would just total the different categories from the receipts. Add up all the items under each category and log it as that. For example if you have a total for target for $75 but there items for groceries, household, beauty and miscellanous. Total for each category For example groceries $30, household $20, beauty $15, miscellanous $10. Does that sense?
@jocelyncabrera20025 жыл бұрын
The easiest for me is to pay for things separately. 🤷🏻♀️ sometimes it annoying but I thank myself when I’m not trying add stuff up later. I enjoy doing numbers but I’m also terrible at adding and subtracting things lol

Maybe you can write the amount so you know how much you have.
@stephaniejane3065 жыл бұрын
Write it down or maybe if you are tech savvy create a spread sheet? You are effectively creating "active", as i like to call them, sinking funds. JenPlans has two videos on sinking funds and shows an example of a analogue table layout you can use to track them.
