September, 2022: A long weekend at Upper Michigan’s Sturgeon River Gorge

I took Wonderdog, Bridger, for a long weekend back up to the UP’s Sturgeon River Gorge back in mid-September. I managed to snag the best front country campsite I’ve ever seen which resulted in me spending about 80% of my time just watching the river flow by.
Of course, Bridger got to have his fun in the water and my old friend and backpacking partner, Bob, came up Saturday morning, 4 large pasty’s in hand. It was good to catch up with Bob while drinking too many spotted cows and eating stuff our wives would undoubtedly disapprove.
Bridger had a blast swimming in the river and behaved so well that I blatantly eschewed campground rules and only chained him up for a few minutes while setting up camp.
