September in Peniche, Portugal

To be honest, summer in Portugal is a bit boring, with a lot of windy days and not much swell.
When September arrives everything comes to Life again…
Offshore days with warm weather and without much of crowd.
This is just the beginning of the surf season, here in Peniche, better and more consistent swells are on the way and the excitement for surfing starts again.

Quais são as melhores praias para surfar perto da marinha grande? Vim para cá trabalhar um tempinho e não conheço muito.

Olá! Paredes de Vitória, São Pedro de moel, praia da légua , praia do norte já apanhei altas ondas mas tem de estar vento leste e mar não muito grande pois entra bue swell. Depois mais para norte tens praia da Vieira que sinceramente nunca fui. Essa costa é boa com ventos de este, sudeste ou seja nao é tao consistente como Peniche que dá com todos os ventos e swells mas pelo há sempre swell aí. Abraço

Obrigado! Costa Norte de Peniche , desde da Almagreira á foz do arelho. Depende dos bancos que tao sempre a mudar. Nunca vou ao msm sítio pq a areia está sempre a mudar. Vento sul e swell não muito grande. Abraço

It was also extremely foggy the whole summer with freezing cold water, with the deep water upwelling. And now its raining lol. But more good days are coming!

Thank you!! 🙌🏼Yeah no worries, sandbars are always changing, one day is here , other day the sand is elsewhere so I don’t really base myself on the “location” but on the quality of the sandbank!
