SYNOPSIS: INTENSIFIED SOUTHWEST MONSOON AFFECTING SOUTHERN LUZON, VISAYAS AND MINDANAO; ACTIVE LPA (WEAK DEPRESSION 98W by JMA - 480km east of Ilagan, Isabela).
DISCUSSION (BASED ON LATEST WIND, VIS/IR AND WATER VAPOR IMAGERY):
An active LPA (in JMA is minor depression) has been detected in the East of Luzon along with a full-blown tropical depression on Marianas island with Typhoon Bebinca, further enhancing the southwest monsoon which is the most active and dominant weather system in the country. Tropical moisture is gradually building up in Luzon while thick and abundant over at Visayas and Mindanao based on the latest water vapor imagery. Due to the aforementioned weather systems and atmospheric conditions affecting the country, here is the expected weather forecast for the next 24 hours:
METRO MANILA: Cloudy skies with possible scattered rainshower and/or thunderstorms due to southwest monsoon.
LUZON: MIMAROPA will experience frequent rainshower and/or thunderstorms due to southwest monsoon while Southern Luzon including Cagayan Valley and CAR region will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshower and/or thunderstorms. The rest of Luzon will be partly cloudy skies with possible chance of isolated thunderstorms by afternoon and/or evening.
VISAYAS: Frequent rainshower and/or thunderstorms is expected over Western Visayas mostly over Panay island while cloudy skies with scattered thunderstorms over the rest of Visayas due to southwest monsoon.
MINDANAO: Zamboanga peninsula and BARMM will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered thunderstorms while partly cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms is expected over the rest of Mindanao by afternoon and/or evening.
