Great explanation thank you. I was diagnosed with septic arthritis in my ankle and ended up in hospital for 5 weeks last August . On antibiotics for 9 weeks. I also had an infection in my lower back /spine. I had symptoms for over a week before I did anything (stupid I know) a friend ended up calling an ambulance to me. Its a long recovery, not even sure if I will ever recover fully from it but I was determined to do what ever I can to help myself, exercise, walking little and often, moving the joint around... I'm going to the gym 3 times a week. The surgeon who sees me monthly is really surprised to see my progress. I think it's really important we do whst we can to help ourselves I feel if I had done nothing I would still limping and using the crutches whereas now I can walk unaided, not very fast but its progress.

@sandilobianco6734 hi all this happened over the space of 5 or 6 days.., it started with a slight burning pain left side of my pelvis area... I ignored it . Then my back became quite sore ,and it was painful to walk . Three days later my right ankle started to swell. At night I had a slight fever, I also had hallucinations for two nights. Looking back I can't believe how long I tried to get through the days, I certainly wasn't thinking straight. I think, burning pains, fevers, joint swelling are key things to look for. But don't wait around, if you think you have an infection go get it checked out. Sepsis is a terrible thing, I'm lucky I didn't die.

I had Septic Arthritis. I was on a drip in hospital and when discharged expected everything to return to normal. I was wrong. I was fit and slim and could go upstairs 4 at a time at aged 56yrs. Now I drag my left leg behind me and limp like crazy. It looks as though I am 90yrs old. The pain in my hip is very bad and life destroying. I have 2 boys aged 10yrs and 12yrs and I can no longer do ANYTHING with them. I need a hip replacement but have been told the NHS waiting list is over 18mths. I have ben on the waiting list 6wks so still another 16mths to go. It seems so far away. My 2 boys will be then at an age where they no longer want to play football with dad. I walk to work everyday and am a shadow of the man I used to be. A hip replacement is now the biggest goal of my life. Please god perform some miracle for me and my family.

@littleenglander.5029 Sir look into msm immediately. Also check and see which type of stubborn strain of bacteria is in your blood and what is used to treat it. Im your age and hv the same thing but in the finger and arm. It spreads to other joints. Problem is dr.s just want to gv antibiotics steroids (many unsuccessful rounds) without actually pinpointing what bacteria has caused it and what is effective to treat it. Let me know if the msm worked for u

I had septic arthritis from IV Drug Use when I was 20 years old. It was PAINFUL. I remember going to the clinic and them telling me I needed to get to the hospital STAT. When I got there, they took me right in (I'm in Canada, while the medical is free and taxpayer funded, we struggle with wait times) and got me taken care of. I was lucky, many people can lose limbs or die from this disease!! I still have my lower leg and my life!

Hi! I'm glad you survived this. I am also a sceptic arthritis survivor. I had it when I was four whrn my left knee accidentally kneeled on a thumbtack. I was just 4 but I can still remember the pain. I am from the Philippines and it wasn't easy to get medical help so we waited 2 days until I couldn't walk and was just crawling. I was already hearing angels singing. I remember asking my father if the angels were there to pick me up and take me to heaven. Thank God my older sister visited us and took me to the hospital and I was admitted immediately. Now I am 32 years old and I can brisk walk, jump , run and dance. 😍

I found your other video about the rheumatoid arthritis and you said it was because of 3 things: genetics, smoking and gingivitis. I actually found out that I had a gum boil inside my mouth due to failed root canal, and because of that it released antibodies (coz you said arthritis is an auto immune disease meaning it would release antibodies and attack healthy cells on your bodies) and came to find out it was because of my failed root canal that caused the antibodies to attach my healthy cells does causing septic arthrtitis. I will be taking some anti inflammatory and antibiotics to battle my gum boil and the spread of the infection though out my body. that lead me to my theory. if it works I will update this comment trust me. thank you so much!

@@OyindaOluyemi-or1tk Update: I got my tooth fixed, it was a failed root canal and now I got it fixed, but it wasn't the cause. After that I went to the lab and got a cbc, xray, creatinine and uric test, all were normal!!! turns out it was trigger finger syndrome not arthritis. I've been lifting weights since I was 17, I am now 36 and because of lifting heavy weights for years and old age, the sheet of my fingers got swollen from all that and not to mention I game a lot. Now, I'm using a splint before I go to sleep, it alleviates the pain when I wake up in the morning. I also ice my hands twice a day to avoid the inflamming it isn't cured yet, but it has shown significant improvements.

turns out after my cbc, xray, creatinine and uric test results (plus the dentist fixing my teeth) , they determined that it wasn't any type of arthritis or gout, it was trigger finger syndrome due to lifting weights for 18 yrs and at first I thought it was my diet, then I ate super clean and it wouldn't go away, after my tests they were able to determine I have trigger finger syndrome.

Hi. A few weeks back I was hospitalised with pseudogout of the knee with septic arthritis . I was in severe pain for 3 days with a high fever before calling for an ambulance. I was treated for 5 days in hospital with an infusion of antibiotics. Because i was nervous of catching Covid 19 I left hospital before I should have. My knee has been very sensitive since, sometimes giving me a sharp pang of pain.. I have to use a walking frame to get around because my knee feels very weak. I think the infection has further damaged the knee joint but I am, hopeful that things will improve given time and plenty of knee rest.

48 hours ago while hiking I accidently kneed a Florida cactus with 2" spines right in the middle of my knee cap. I pulled the spine out and kept hiking. The next morning I felt tightness, but I had to drive 5 hours back home. This morning I woke with a lot of pain, inflammation and tightness. I've just been trying to wait it out to see it just gets better. Is this something local urgent care can treat? Just surprised as I've been pricked by these plants before with no issue and this was on my knee cap that is very hard with very little flesh.

@kwyuenantony2 жыл бұрын
Sorried to hear from you, I am not truly a medical person. But what kind of work has been done to come up with the diagnosis? Any imaging has been done? It seems it has to do with blood vessel problem, but pretty strange to be locally affecting the toe. Are you a smoker? sometimes it is difficult to make a diagnosis in quite a number of rare disease in the world, but as long as you are lucky enough to find one knowing the rare disease, it still worth not to lose hope. And any specialist has the doctor referred you to? I think you can still strategically find related specialist yourself. After consultation, at least they have their knowledge for doing tests to rule out the disease they know. Like a vascular surgeon, or a podiatrist. Besides, during the previous 8 months, has there been moments you experience there is relief of the symptom? If there has already been no other option in the moment, I think is worth to make a daily diary for period of time, to see any pattern accidentally found that there is a relief of the symptoms or exacerbation of symptom, like temperature change, or after a foot bath, etc, or trying a day or two eating 50% less carb or sugary thing, or eating no sodium to see if it makes any difference. Or do some leg extension exercise with weight for a week first. Just give it a try as long as it is not harmful. Any extension of the affected area after the time period? or keep affecting locally the same spot? It may provide more clue for doctors to know what is the potential cause of your condition, (like find whether it looks like the problem of artery or vein? or both?) or at least, you find a way that can alleviate discomfort a bit. Hope it helps.
