Great day. It's awesome to see the progress of all the work done. Eli was great in explaining the start of the video. So glad he likes mountain tops....thanks for explaining the check valve issue. Good to see the new panel going on and safety will not be a concern anymore...

You guys have amazing patience and perseverance. Such a lot of difficult and tedious work but you just keep plugging along thru all the ups and downs. I commend you. Hope the new year brings you much progression and satisfaction. Your "community" will be here cheering you on!! Take care and have lots of good family fun this winter. 🥰

I really applaud your hard work, patience and the fact that you have no fear to always try something you’ve never done before. So grateful that you discovered the check valve issue before you buried the pipes, what a nightmare that would’ve been. Happy New Year and many blessings to your family!

I have seen others use a heated tape/wrap to go around pipes to prevent from freezing (Trent & Allie). Also, bails of hay and house wrap around the perimeter of camper to block wind. Things to consider...maybe. Nice rebuild of electrical panel. Thanks for sharing

consider a length of rebar (5') driven into ground at the end of the shop pipes to mark the location after you back fill. Maybe some caution tape tire to top. Pipes look good. I feel a pressure tank is in the near future. Might want to plan on it for future space. Will the washing machine go next to door, in front of the water pump? Looks good. I like it. Thanks for sharing

Yup, right in front of the pump. Thanks for the tips.

I totally feel you on having to make a silk purse from a sow's ear, when being forced to re-work legacy electrical work that looked like it was originally installed by a drunken monkey. I recently upgraded the entire service panel on a mobile home, including the unpleasant surprise of the 100A main breaker that refused to reset after replacing all the individual breakers, and THAT was a minor nightmare. Worse, I was doing it on a weekend in a semi-rural area, so I had to drive to the nearest Lowe's, a full 30 minutes one-way, to get the replacement main breaker. Thankfully, the store had ONE in stock, or I would have had to drive ANOTHER 15mins one-way to try Home Depot. For the water pipe coming into the trailer, what about using an inline pipe heater instead of a heat lamp?
@aboulderlifeoffgrid Жыл бұрын
Actually just bought some heat cable for the water pipe. Not sure if that's what you mean by an inline pipe heater.

In my life in commercial construction lending I had the unfortunate experience to deal with an old/very old apartment complex that had aluminum wiring. The owner of the apartment complex was a single entity borrower & guarantor who did not fully understand the liability of such wiring. The entire project was unsuitable for remodel or upgrade. The $$$$$ was excessive. In the end of the situation the city condemned the site. It was later plowed down and an entirely new apartment project was developed for lower income residents. {how this all came out for the lender & the borrower/guarantor shall remain undisclosed}. Jacob, what was your previous occupation before the move to this homestead??

Aluminum wiring can be a nightmare. I was a commercial electrician and later a fire alarm technician. Thanks for the comment. 👍
