This is really good video my friend. Much like yourself I became a fan only after taking a proper listen at Portrait of a Headless Man, and your explanation really adds up to all the reasons why their music captivates me so. :D

Great video Russell 👍 I'm interested in giving this band a second chance now as well. I haven't listened to much of their work.

That's good to know! If you can, I highly recommend watching their short movie 'The Making Of The Great Mass'. It documents and shows you in detail how these guys go about putting an album together. They also did a 'Making Of Titan' though it's in parts on Season Of Mist's channel. There you can see how their costumes are made too.

That definitely has a much better ring to it than masters. Should have thought about that back when I made the video XD

Cradle of Filth sadly has been getting redundant in their sound, Sceptic Flesh really thought me there is such a thing an evolving artist , if anyone is interested in studying Music they should study ScepticFlesh religiously . Persepolis,Anubis, Pyramid God,Thyrianthrophy, are all masterpieces

Agreed. I must admit I'm shocked that a band like Septicflesh still gets completely overshadowed by the likes of Dimmu Borgir and Cradle Of Filth still to this day as well as the typical symphonic metal bands like Nightwish, Epica, or Within Temptation.

Overshadowed is a key term because now to think of it, I can't remember ever seeing anyone wearing a ScepticFlesh Tshirt in my life! I had a friend who would spam me with metal tracks and it just so happens I got hooked on Anubis and Persepolis after a few listens and I moved on to their other albums, they orchestrals told a story it wasn't just put there to sound flashy it literally told a story! Every now and then I see someone with a Cradle of Filth or DimmuBorgir teeshirt but zero scepticflesh merch also another majestically crafted song they did was Eldest Cosmonaught

Yeah, it's a real shame because I've looked up some of their merch and Spiros Antoniou's artwork and designs are absolutely insane. I plan on getting one so I can rep their stuff in future videos. I also plan on doing a series of videos in the future where I break down the concepts of their albums from Communion onwards. But that all depends on how far I get with all the other projects I have piled up XD As for the storytelling, I'm in full agreement with that statement. I actually had a subscriber message me and we talked about how their music and lyrical themes are the embodiment of cosmic horror and dread. I still get the chills when it comes to tracks like Lovecraft's Death or The Vampire Of Nazareth whenever I listen to them.

I came across this a couple of years ago and you'll love it , this guy tells a story with the lyrics and imagery Video is low on views but what it lacks in content it makes up with depth!! It's the only video on the WHOLE of youtube that bothers to explore ScepticFlesh kzbin.info/www/bejne/hYa7oqmHbL51bKs
