@serhafiye70463 жыл бұрын
Dude the most heavy thing was Blackened back then, and they did THİS. edit: All the things you guys said are way too underground. They didn't change the world. Sepultura did. I know Death, but they weren't famous until 1991 either. Did Slayer get famous when they released Reign in Blood? Then they can beat Metallica of course. etc. etc. Metallica > Megadeth > Sepultura > Pantera. That's how it goes in late 80's to mid 90's for an ordinary metalhead
@jesserapkin26602 жыл бұрын
Justice was a heavy album for sure, but you had death metal bands like Morbid Angel recording in 88 and releasing Altars of Madness in ‘89. There was definitely much heavier stuff out around this time, but it was so underground. Also, the thrash community wasn’t too gung ho for the heavier music movement at first

I believe it was 1990 when my buddy's older co-worker (Tim) pulled into work cranking this album and I immediately walked over to him and asked who sings that? He replied Sepultura and they're from Brazil.. I was shocked; I only thought the US had Metal especially Hard Metal that was right up there with SLAYER!!! My ignorance was due to my age (15 yrs old) thinking we were the only country that understood how awesome Metal was... Tim was so cool he let me borrow his cassette and I went home and copied it that day while he was working. I still crank that album.. Thank you for Posting the Video... This tune was first released in 1991, and as the genre was emerging, the opinion was divided between those who loved it blindly, and those who hated it to death. But in spite of that premise, Sepultura was able to reach higher thanks to the 'Arise' album, which made the band become responsible for setting the standard regarding thrash metal and helping commercialize the genre all over the world. That has been the band's main legacy since it all began, back in 1984, and we should be grateful for that.

I literally learned broken Portuguese because of these dudes. Only eleven year old with the Beneath the Remains shirt. If people don't get it I don't have any use for them. Sepulturas pushed my drumming even to this day. My favorite band of the era

Always considered to be a genuinely scary track, from the intro and then Max's vocal kicks in like a sledgehammer. This is opitomy of what thrash metal was, one of the best metal albums made, nothing better or heavier imo.

I was a metaller/thrasher all through the 80's (Slayer, Nuclear Assault, Virus etc). I got fed up with metal around early 90's. This album, along with "White Zombie" made me realise why I fell in love with metal in the first place!
