Gunstar Super Heroes absolutely blew me away the first time I played it on the GBA. The amount of action on screen combined with the huge sprites and scaling effects made it look phenomenal. I never did get around to completing it though, I must rectify that some day...

Hey everyone! Just to give an update on where things are at on some of our more anticipated episodes. Our big Night Trap documentary is finished, but we can't release it until an embargo is lifted regarding some of the features in the new version. When is this? We don't know for sure yet! It might be a few weeks, it might be a month. We sure hope it won't be longer, but it's outside our control! Since we didn't have anything else ready, we made this episode to fill the gap! Up next, Coury is gearing up for going full-steam on the Saturn RGB episode, while Try is going to work on a couple of shorter episodes before moving onto working on the PS2 RGB episode in a couple of months!

I'm so glad to see you guys sticking up for Gunstar Super Heroes. I bought it on launch day, was super hyped, and was not let down. I tend to think that Advance Guardian Heroes left such a bad taste in the mouth of Treasure fans on GBA, and if it weren't for that Gunstar Super Heroes would have been much more well received.

Would like to see more of these if you guys can get 'em out. I bloody LOVE Gunstar Super Heroes! This may be blasphemy to some, but I like it better than the original, the GBA hardware allows for far more stunning visual effects, and even though they took out the weapon combinations, what they replaced it with made the game quite a bit more satisfying to play in my opinion, I love me some melee attacks, and the strafing helps a lot too! That said though, I've beaten the original on my 3DS, but I've never managed to beat Super Heroes, but well, I didn't know about that double-tap-R super move so I'm gonna try that out next time I play...

GUNSTAR SUPER HEROES! This was one of my favorites back in the day!
@Bartman30107 жыл бұрын
I noticed the Gunstar Super Heroes footage varies between filling the entire screen and appearing smaller. Personally I feel that handheld games should be shrunk down as there's several games that not only look not-so great blown up, but also that you'll need to be able to see everything on screen at once; so having the video take up the entire screen space might make it harder to follow what's going on. It would also replicate the feeling of playing the game on a handheld as opposed to a TV, since that's what they're designed for.

I have Gunstar Super Heroes on the GBA which I feel lucky to have gotten during a Walmart clearance sale for $8 along with Capcom Mini Mix on the GBA for $5 several years back, and Gunstar Super Heroes might not be my favorite GBA game, however it is for sure worth picking up, and giving it a play threw if you can find it for under $20 as it shows some of the more technical things that can be done on the GBA, as always guys very awesome video. :-) Edit: to note my favorite GBA game is Astro Boy: Omega Factor since I'm a huge Astro Boy, & Osamu Tezuka fan. Edit edit: I'm such a huge Osamu Tezuka fan I even named my female dachshund "Tima" after Tima the main female charter of Metropolis

Commodorefan64 I'm noticing tons of chinese knock off gba games on ebay these days and the sellers pretend like they don't know the difference. It's horrible because in the ebay pics they almost look authentic
@CommodoreFan647 жыл бұрын
That's why I try to find my 3DS/DS/GBA/GBC/GB games while I'm out thrifting so I can see the game in person, or from a seller on eBay who just happens to have the random game up among a bunch of other non gaming stuff, as those are usually legit(not saying always but usually). what's even worse are the fake DS games where you can clearly see the bad printing on the labels that are off centered, almost never come with a case and/or Manual, they are usually a harder to find title that did not get a large print run like "Super Princess Peach", and are almost always from China, HK, or some other South East Asian country, and shit like that tends to drive prices of legit copies up more then I personally feel comfortable paying & Also to be noted because of that I play a lot of GB/GBC/GBA games these days via emulation on my Android phone with a MOGA controller, as it's better then getting ripped off on a fake game that might not even boot up.
@Sweetestsadist7 жыл бұрын
Similar story for me. I bought my copy from a thrift store for $5. I still consider it the best value (comparing money spent to quality of the game) I've ever had.

Recently discovered this channel & love the content. Giving a favorable review for the Blaster Master PS1 sequel is great to see from from you guys, always loved the game since I randomly saw it sitting on the shelf in 2002 at a video game store & picked it up. Always reminded me of the Mega Man Legends games, similar gameplay & graphics. The fact the game even had voice acting instead of scrolling text was huge to me, made me think a lot of time was put into making the game! I loved the original NES version & felt this was a solid follow up. Great review video! I'll continue binging the channel & expanding my gamer knowledge!

That PS1 Blaster Master game looks great. Only heard about it a while back when Try was discussing it on one of the live streams. Turns out it never got a UK release, not even on PSN. It is pretty tough for a sequel to be worse than the original. I think this is one of the reason Nintendo fans get so hyped. Since they aren't pooping out a new version of each IP every 1-3 years you can really feel the upgrade from each game in a series to the next. It's definitely the opposite approach compared to the rest of the industry but Nintendo follows that strategy to a fault as they leave IP's on the shelf that really deserve attention.
@mylifeingaming7 жыл бұрын
[Try4ce] Although with Nintendo, their sequels are often even more different from their predecessors than sequels from other companies (exceptions like say, Splatoon 2 or Mario Galaxy 2 aside). This runs the risk of making old fans mad, but I'm usually excited to see what new stuff they come up with.

Enough people seem to like it so maybe it doesn't fit, but Suikoden V could be one. People like the first, loved the 2nd but seem to have been disapointed in 3 and hated 4. 5 was released towards the last quarter of the PS2's life cycle, which in combination with people hating 4, lead to lower sales. I really like it, the story is very engaging and interesting and the gameplay is solid for an RPG. Only problem is some area's look slightly unfinished and slow pacing in the first portion of the game, but I can forgive it as it uses that time to set the world and story up quite well. From what I've seen on the internet, most people think it's second to suikoden II and think it's a return to suikoden games being high calibre RPGs.
@mylifeingaming7 жыл бұрын
+Torgo Gorgo [Try4ce] Yeah that seems to be the opinion held by those who actually played it. Personally, I remember very little about V, but I liked it. For as divisive as III is, I loved it and it has remained clearer in my memory. I love the different perspectives in it.

@mylifeingaming7 жыл бұрын
[Try4ce] True, I get that feeling. It's a lot easier to forgive when you're buying the game years after the fact. Although, to get the good endings, it does take some effort to learn the levels and do things right. I haven't done this yet, but I'm very much looking forward to it.

Would you be willing to make an Episode about video converters/Upscalers? All my Consoles are Unmodded but for my Retro Consoles, I use this tiny little thing called the "AV2HDMI" it accepts a Console's Composite Inputs and HDMI Outputs. It's even got a small toggle switch allowing you to switch between 720p to 1080p. If you can cover these kinds of devices in an upcoming Episode. That would be really appreciated!
