I basically learned about synthesis mostly analysing patches and I must admit the Mopho x4's factory patches were, to stay polite, not good at all, not inspiring, not anything... So, thanks a thousand times for your work and patches, I adore almost all of them!! It does breathe new life into it. I think I'd forgotten how versatile this synth actually is... I spent 3 weeks studying your patches and I'm blown away by its capabilities. I don't think I'll ever sell it! I still got a lot to learn with it!!

Lovely patches! I think the reason that it doesn't work with the Mopho is... that the patches are in BANK 4. And the Mopho only has 3 banks...

Trying to transfer the banks to my Prophet 08... does any one know if the programs are compatible that direction? Doesn't appear to work. Midi signal is being received, just not writing over the current presets.

The process is automatic when you use a program like SysEx Librarian. I loaded up the SysEx file which I downloaded here on this YT page, dragged and dropped into SysEx Librarian, hit "play," and my Mopho started receiving all the patches in order, flipping through them like a digital rolodex if that makes sense.. Point is, I would think the process should just happen automatically if it were to work. Don't know if my message made sense but trying to help out...

Hey hi. I'm so sorry to hear that the patches won't upload to your machine. Just in case I've uploaded the banks in the 4 formats in the same dropbox folder again. On Reddit I was told they worked for Tetra and Mopho though, so try again and maybe it works this time. I'm not sure about MIDIOX as what I used to dump the patches and upload them to my Mopho x4 was SysEx Librarian, maybe you could use that as a workaround.. Hope any of the ways work for you! Cheers :)

thanks for these. couple of questions -- would the mopho x4 and tetra banks work together if the two were polychained? also, what do you think of the x4+tetra combo vs a prophet rev 2 in 2020? i see comments on older videos about that combo saying "may as well just get a used prophet rev 2 instead" but don't know enough about it to really judge myself. thanks

I do nit own any of these but the sounds of the P6 blew me away while I didn't really like the whole modulation possibilities of the Rev2 Thanks !

I would say its good but something like a Toraiz As1 is a lot better or a Moog minitaur even better on the low end.

I have had mopho 4 for years, used live mostly, loved it but I was thinking of upgrading to the rev 2 which has a similar architecture...what made you choose the 4 over the rev 2?

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. :) It was the portability of the x4 that I found to be a particular advantage over the Rev2. :) If you're anything like me and you move to new places every once in a while, or you gig a lot and want to make the transportation of the rig easy, you probably enjoy the x4 over the Rev2 for its size. If neither of that is a thing for you and you're just fine playing in the studio OR your band has devoted hired tech workers who take care of the transportation and the set-up - Rev2 is ok. :)

I've tried Rev 2 and sold it. While Rev2 is nice, I really like Mopho X4 and Tetra for the sub-oscillator that gives it a really nice distinctive charter that Rev 2 just does not have.

Hi there! I wouldn't exactly say so - both the synths are fantastic, and I kinda miss the Rev2, but the x4 works for me as my keyboard game is not that strong so the 3,5 octaves with the 4 voices are ok with me.

@@maccagrabme Hi, I'd say the x4 sounds a little more in-your-face and raw, not sure why really. It seems the output gain is somewhat hotter than the one of the Rev2, with the latter having smoother master output signal. It's subjective really but the Rev2 sounds a little rounder overall I guess

since mopho was mono, the x4 would make this as 4 voice. But the tetra is also 4 voice, so is there any difference or is the tetra just a desktop version of the mopho x4?

Good question i was confused too. Basically the mopho is one voice from the PO8 (possibley fattened up a bit for mono uses) the mopho x4 is 4voices of that in a keyboard. The Tetra is pretty much the desktop version but with a twist......... Its 4part multitimbral meaning you play the voices as one poly or 4 monos or any combination in between

That’s subjective but since I disagree 100% I’ll share my subjective opinion. The A4/Keys has an awful sound… which is why I bought this, to swap for my A4. The A4 is constantly buzzy/harsh and muddy in a mix, it takes tons of filtering and more to eliminate this mass of mud in the mid-low end. I love Elektron’s workflow (I’ve own all their machines) but sound is not one of their best qualities. Also not the worst, I just wholeheartedly disagree with your statement.
